Baptism Quesiton???

How are you girls having the baby baptised? I mean are you for sure gonna have God parents or are you just going to get the baby baptised? and if you and the father are different religions how are you two gonna decided on what religion the baby will be baptised?

We're not getting the baby baptised because we're not christian. To each his/her own.

My husband is baptist and I was raised catholic but we baptized our girls Lutheran. It was a good compromise and we did have god parents even though it was a very difficult decision. I think whatever you are comfortable with do, trust yourself and don't let other people sway you.

I told my ex/BD that since we can't agree (he's religious, I'm not) that we should let her (our daughter) decide when she's old enough.

typically the babys religion is whatever the mothers religion is..

Me and my hubby are baptists so we're not getting our kids baptised  

We will have Charlie baptised Catholic in Venezuela next year and we will have godparents....Carlos's family is religious and it is more for their benefit as tradition since Carlos and I don't attend church here.

our church does baby dedications... which we will be doing ( its where the pastor dedicates the baby to God and the church and he challenges the parents, family , and church to help raise the baby and teach them about God! ) I like this better because now my son will have the oppertunity to choose when he gets baptized and it will mean more for him. We did pick God parents also!!   ( we are Christian and attend a non-denominational church)  

I have Godparents but my daughter will not be getting baptised until she figures out which religion suits her needs!

I'm the same way. I was raised catholic and was baptized but i was also forced to do my communion and confirmation which drove me away from religion. My bf's family is christian but like me, he's not religious. I want to give my child the choice of which religion they want to become. We made our choice and so should our child.

We are Lutheran and both of my boys are and have god parents. Dylan was when he was about 18 months old because I was busy with school and Logan was done at like 2 months.
