I think that the baby shower should be whatever the people throwing it and the person recieving it want it to be.

In my experience people have not brought children to baby showers unless they were a casual family shower. I have a shower on Sunday and no children will be coming, just adult women. I dont think there is a right or wrong way to have a shower, as long as the hosts and recipents wishes are respected.

If the person thowing the shower doesnt want kids there you have to respect that. If that means you wont go, then fine.

I agree with you on that. I think infants are different then toddlers or children...

and this is not directed to you or anyoneparticular... but I also think it is up to whomever the party is for. That it is their wishes people are considering and not their own... that's all.  

I brought my baby to a friend's baby shower. Of course, I checked with my preggo friend first. I pretty much go everywhere with my daughter - it's not often I can go anywhere without her. The preggo buddy understood, even when I warned her that my girl would try to steal her spotlight. I just made sure I packed a diaper bag full of distractions.
