Just an idea...Your thoughts?

posted 20th Aug
At my baby shower I got tons of the little hooded towels. Cute as all get out, but completely useless. They're too small and they don't absorb worth a darn. I thought about picking up some towels from Wal-Mart, washing them in Dreft, and sewing on a flannel or terry cloth hood that actually fits her head. She fits into my towels pretty good. The hooded ones worked for, oh, about a week.

What are all yalls thoughts? Good idea? Or are regular towels too scratchy?

i got a couple towels like that from someone at my sons baby shower. she even made one big enough that i can still use it today-at age 2.5.
just make sure you buy good quality towels, not ones that will get scratchy and gross after a few washes.

also-target has a line of baby towels that are actually thicker and more like regular towels, with the hood and everything. their more expensive then normal baby towels, but they're awefully cute!

I vote neither as a previous poster suggested. Just use a regular towel from home (that you already have) and save a few bucks. No need for a hood really. Or use the cute little baby towels but skip using the hood. But then again- I am a frugal person! hehe

The hood is so her little head doesn't get cold. She could be wrappen in flannel and have the heater on and she's stil cold. She's my little cold blooded baby!

Just use a reg towel but lay her in the towel at one corner and lightly drape a small portion of the corner over her head to keep it warm. That's what I do and baby stays toasty. =0) The first thing I dry off is baby's head thenI dry off babys feet and put on socks- so baby stays pretty warm! But again...I am frugal and would rather spend the money and time on other things (baby clothes, diapers and if I actually had such a thing called time to myself- I'd like me a long shower hehe). But if you like to sew (I know some people do!!) then totally whip up some towel creation- and if you plan on having more babies later- you can always reuse them.

Yeah I'm pretty frugal, too. Time to myself? What's that? I think I remember that but it's a distant memory...
