Its almost time!

So friday August 22nd im being induced @ 630am! lol I have a couple questions for the veteran moms. How long did the induction process take ? How long do you usually stay in the hospital if the baby is born the same day ? Do you think it makes the whole process much easier if you have 2 support people and then allow people to come visit after the baby is born? Any words of wisdom or advice to make this go as quick and smooth as possible ? =0)

I was induced at 7 in the morning on a Saturday and didn't have my son until 3 in the morning on Sunday. My mom and my fiance were both in there with me, and Ialso had visitors up until the time I was supposed to push. I liked having my mom in there becauseshe actually knew what I was going through.I believe I left Tuesday afternoon, but I wasn't ready to go home yet lol.

i was induced at 830 pm (tuesday). had contractions at 2am, got my epi at 330am, began pushing at 530am. he was born at 607am (wednesday) i was there for 2 days. but he stayed in the nicu for 5 wks so i cant really get advice after that.

I was induced for 23 hours before I had my c-section. With a c-section you normally stay 2-3 days afterward.

Bring as many or as little people as you want there. Let everyone else know that it'll be a loooong process and that you'll have someone call then when you're around 8cm. (That's what we were going to do anyways. I never made it past 5.)

And my best advice it to relax as long as you can! Oh and eat a meal before you have to go in. Nothing big but eat something. I went about 3 days without food because of the fact that I didn't eat. =/

i was told not to eat 8 hrs before i got induced incase they needed to give me anastecia (sp?)

i had ate at 4 in the morning didnt eat angain till noon. and then it wasnt until 7 the next morning that i ate.

I went to the hospital for inducement at 7 am Thursday morning had him at 10:46 pm that night and we went home Saturday afternoon. But I have been seeing alot of ladies on here say they are being released the following day after delivery for vaginal births. I had a completly full waiting room all daylong but they would only let 3 people in the delivery room at a time. I allowed no one but DH in there for the acual delivery though.
You should figure out before hand and let them know who you want to be there for the actual birth before hand. My mom thought she was staying and I had to get the nurse to remove her from the room.
Good Luck bring something to entertain you it cold be a long process.

That's what they say but it's torture. If you eat some small you'll be fine.

yeah i just want my fiance and my mom & if my aunt shows up i dont mind her being there but ive been getting really irritated people wanting to know like what time im being induced so they can go visit ( im assuming during the process) and i dont want anyone there the first night MIL FIL BIL my mom dad & my aunt then i dont want anyone else visiting after such an intense day but i dont want to see like a bitch lol

You are probably going to get next to no sleep whether you have visitors or not. The nurses are always coming in to check on you or your baby is going to want fed.

I liked having visitors there the day I got induced. It made the time go by a little quicker. It's so boring to just lay there and watch tv. It's a long process....

i had no one there but my fiance. It was a suprise induction. I was there for a reg doc visit and he says " well theres no point in waiting, we're gonna do it today" and i had nothing bc the doc was 2 hrs from our house. and the appt was at 8 in the morning, so i had to lay there and watch tv for 12 friggen hrs. it SUCKED.

well its just the fact i want it under control we have big families and theyll all want to be there and assume its ok to watch me push a baby out with 20 people in the room and there also LOUD i want it as mellow and realax as possible i mean i think 7 people allowed that day is good enuff lol i have a really short temper and im sure being in that much pain i wont want to see ANYONE!!! lol

You won't be in much pain if you get an epidural lol....I loved it.

im trying to go without that i hate needles and the thought of 1 that big in my spine. yeah well it doesnt seem to sit in my mind very well lol i wouldnt mind some sort of pain med if i absolutly cant take it. I was watchin a documentry that most woman ask for the epi when you hit that plateau where the pain cant get any worst and they ask for it because they think it will sooo if it goes as planned and there isnt a million people in the room im gonna take it like a trooper lol!! but im not COMPLETLY against the epi lol i heard its = to heaven haha

oh it is. before i got mine i was telling my so i NEVER wanted babies ever again. lol.
