Quoting Mileys Mami:“ So friday August 22nd im being induced @ 630am! lol I have a couple questions for the veteran moms. How ... [snip!] ... to come visit after the baby is born? Any words of wisdom or advice to make this go as quick and smooth as possible ? =0)”

With my first, the doctor came and started pitocin at 8:30am and she was born 2 hours later at 10:38am. I got lucky...lol. I've heard of people getting cervadil (which they keep in for 12 hours at a time) and having to get it a couple of times before labor really picked up. As far as leaving the hospital, we left the next day at about 11ish (they require you stay at least 24 hours at our hospital for a normal vaginal delivery). My husband was the only one in the room with me through the labor and delivery, but we had visitors as soon as we could after she was born (my MILcouldn't waitto see her first grandbaby...lol). Hope this helps. Good luck!

yes, I was 3 cm. My doctor told me that if my body hadn't of been doing something on it's own, I wouldn't have had a 2 hour labor because pitocin doesn't work that fast on it's own. I was only feeling mild and irregular contractions though (that I thought were BH) and I'd been feeling them for about a month or so, so I don't think I was in actual labor (I was induced at 39 weeks, btw).
