my hubby is in the navy and i was in the navy and got out, the hardest part of being a mlilitary spouse is being seperated. my husband boat came home from a 7 month deployment in june and leaves for a 5 month deployment in january. alot of married coules get divorced after deployment, the best advice i can give is treat everyday as a blessing and write alot of letters, take alot of pictures. if you wanna talk im here,

The life of an E2 sucks! The pay is awful....well, any military pay is sucky, really.

the hard part is they dont have a set schedule. Sometimes he goes in at 4am and sometimes 6 or 7 and comes home anywhere from 3:30-6pm. I cant go to work because I have to put the kids in daycare since his schedule is unreliable. And now Im having his baby in Oct and he's leaving for Iraq on the 18th of Oct until Aug '09 so he's gonna miss everything. When he leaves the baby will be 2 weeks old and when he comes back he'll be almost 1. It's hard and we aren't even married yet. Then there's training where they leave for 2 weeks so you don't see him much

If you look at it money wise, yes, the Army blows. But I don't mind being an Army wife, I feel proud. It's just how you decide to feel about it and your outlook.

kinda. my husbands an e4 and he makes about 1400 every 2 weeks. so if your hubby's an e2... you might make that much with BAH. but i def suggest gettin every available resource at your disposil(SP)...the way i look at it is, we pay our taxes and protect our country so we should be intitled to them lol.

i wish i had been on when u first posted this. you will be struggling in the beginning. he won't get his regular pay until after he gets out of BCT and AIT reason being they don't give you the full amount because of the possiblilty that he won't finish. i use to be a human resouce sgt before i became a LT. so if you have any questions about active duty or what his options are i will be happy to help any way i can. i have connections all over so if you need any help please don't hesitate to ask . i'm a single military mom so if i can do it i know you can!
