Am I going into labor?
posted 19th Aug
I am having cramps, it feels kinda like period cramps or gas and it goes all the way from my stomach to my back, just feels constantly tight in there. I juststarted losingmy mucous plug like an hour ago and have been having moments all day long where I get really hot and clammy. I've been trying to time the contractions and as far as I can tell there about 7-8 minutes apart, but I'm not really sure, cuz I have this constant cramping sensation. I think this might be it, but i'm not sure. I am supposed to be getting induced on Friday, but she may just have plans of her own!

Calling your doctor would also be a good idea.

i hope you've called your doctor by now, but.... they will probably want you to time the contractions. when i had my daughter, they told me i should be contracting every 3-5 mins, with each contraction lasting at least 60 seconds. i had to do that for an hour-- longest hour ever! and then i called back and they said to come in, but when i got there, i was not dilated enough and they sent me home, lol. went home, came back an hour later, and i was able to be admitted! anyway.... talk to the doctor and good luck if this is it!

They say there is a 4-1-1 rule... 4 minutes apart lasting 1 minute for 1 hour
go here and its like a stop clock that tracks them for you, you just click when it starts then when it stops
Good luck!!

They are becoming inconsistent.. first 8 minutes, then 5, then 3, then back to 8so I think I'm gonna wait til there's more of a pattern to call

well, looking at when you first posted, it's been almost an hour now. and you say they're getting more infrequent?.... beside losing your mucus plug the other day, have you noticed anything else?.... i'd still call the doctor to ask because i don't know all the details of your pregnancy and i am not a medical professional of any sort. your doctor's number should direct you to a kind of call center and they should have the doctor on call call you back ASAP. that's how it was with me. hope all is well!!
