2 month vaccinations update

posted 19th Aug
I posted yesterday about how my daughter was to have her 2 month vaccinations today. Well we had them done at 2 and she was doing so good until the first shot. She SCREAMED.   My poor baby. She screamed all about20 seconds though and was then fine. My question is though, now that she's had her shots if she was going to react badly to them would she be? It's been about 5 hours since she had them. I gave her baby tylenol 20 minutes before as advised by her pedi. Then I gave her some more around 6. She's been sleeping most of the day on and off and is just now getting up. She only ate about 2 oz at 6, usually she eats 4-5. I also took her temp and it was a little over 99. She doesn't feel hot and she seems pretty content now. She also had a check up with her pedi and she did this high pitch scream while she was there. She hasn't since but it scared the crap out of me. I'm just afraid now that she's been sleeping most of the day she won't sleep tonight.

My son got his shots yesterday also, I didn't have him for most of the day yesterday and I don't get him today but I did go seem him today and he was very sleepy so it's normal for her to be sleeping a lot. Just treat as if she was sick cause basically they do get sick from the shots. Not all babies but some, I'm not sure how long to wait for a bad reaction but my son's doctor said that with the new vaccines that they are giving there is no bad reactions. At least with the one for whooping cough.

most doctors suggest that you give them some about 15-30 minutes before hand. i would ask your doc why they suggest different, but it's not really a big deal.

Poor baby! Penelope was fine with her shots. She slept that night like normal and was extra tired the next day. She also was really hungry the next day after that.....then she was back to normal. She never got a fever and I only gave her one dose af Tylenol.....Good luck!

you don't have to give him anything but some parents like to do it before the appt. to nib any fever in the butt. It's fine to wait until after, whatever you are more comfortable doing.
