Getting induced tommorrow and SCARED!!!

Hi gyrls! I'm getting induced tommorrow and I'm really scared. For those of you that have went thru this is there anything I can do to ease the tension or to make things go more smoothly? I know labors are all unpredictable but is there ANYTHING I can do. I'm soooo scared

I was induced and my labor lasted 33 hours... get the EPI and bring DVDs...

first of all, dont be scared. itll be fine! being induced does make the contractions more intense so hopefully you have considered some sort of pain meds. my epi was great! the iv pain meds that they gave me before hand, not so much. they made me groggy and i forgot bits and pieces of labor b/c of it. if you plan on going au natural, good luck!my induced labor was 7 1/2- 8 hrs long. and then i pushed for 2 1/2 hrs, but that was b/c he was stuck.

get a good nights sleep..i didn't sleep for 5days before i delivered and one of the meds they gave me knocked me out and i slept through my delivery..you don't want to do that..make very clear what you do and don't want..make sure there is someone there that can speak on your behalf too..you'll do fine...i personally thought that after having my son was worse than being in labor with him...

I agree with getting the epidural.. I have been induced twice and had two easy births.. First labor lasted 8 hours, the 2nd lasted 6. Good luck you will do fine!

holy jesus. i slept through most of mine thanks to the crappy iv pain meds. though i still felt all the pain in my sleep  

I was induced at 8am and the poticen didnt work for me so they stoped it at 6pm and then at 8pm my labor started on its on and I had her the next day at 5:23am by c-section due to some complications. But it wasnt really that bad everyone said that being induced was worse b/c the contractions just start really hard but they let me work my way up Goodluck!!!!

Don't be scared! Being tense will just make things harder on your body. Birth is a natural process and as long as you get the epi, its not painful. My epi kicked in fast and I was NUMB! I didn't feel a dang thing. I think we induced my labor with pitocin starting at 7:30 a.m and by 12:15 p.m he was here! I only had to push for 30 minutes  Good luck girl, I'm sure you will do great!

That's a awsome idea to bring dvds, I don't want to jsut sit there and stare at the wall lol. Thanks girls, I've heard such bad horror stories from the girls here!

OMG yes, Get all the sleep you can now!!! I was in labor on pitocin for 48 hours and then had to push for four hours! And you definitely won't be able to rest once the baby is here, LOL/.

Dont get scared, just dont think of it as your getting induced. think of it as your going to see your baby really soon. i was induced and im not going to say it didnt hurt but i got a epi and it made me feel alot better..i was still in labor for 16 hours and 5 hours of pushing (only b.c he was stuck)...Get sleep, do worry about it youll do great..

I find out on Monday whether I'm getting induced or not. They wanna see if my baby is still growing as they think he's gonna be small. I wanna have an au natural birth-is it possible if your being induced? And GOOD LUCK MOMMA!

i was induced & labor lasted 8 hours. Very long & boring 8 hours .. I took an MP3 player, cosmo and watched tv all afternoon.

Don't be scared! Everything will be fine. I was induced, but i also got the epi and didn't feel any contractionsor labor pains...which was wonderful! I was in labor though for 12 1/2 hours, but I did no pushing. He was down so far that the doctor just used forceps and pulled him out. My only advice isto takeall the pain meds that they offer you. This was my saving grace!! Good luck mama and I hope all goes well!
