What is the legal age for marriage?

I'm a little confused as to what age one can marry at. Does it depend on what state you're in?

I thought it was age 18 unless your parents sign some sort of document.. *shrugs*

I believe so. In canada its 18 across the country... if your younger you need a parent signatue. I also am in the understanding the US is the same?

I think it may depend on the state. Some states will let you marry at 16 with parents permission.

Over here in UK you can get married at 16 with parental consent but when you turn 18 your legally an adult and can marry without parents involved.

Depends on state, parental consent and sometimes circumstances. Some states allow marriage at 14 if both parents consent AND the 14 year old is confirmed to be pregnant. In Kansas it is 16 with parental consent. But I don't know the exact age for any other state. I know this because I was supposed to get married at 16 back when I lived in Kansas. Thank GOD I didn't do that stupid sh*t...

They can be with parental consent. AS Beth said, it's usualy 16 w/ parental consent. 18 without. But a lot of these girls on here who are under 18 and saying they're married are NOT really married.
