Flying w/a 15 month old!?

posted 19th Aug
Whose got tips!? Ryan is 4, so it's been a couple years since I've flown with a toddler. Our longest leg of the flight is from Atlanta to LAX!

Is there a fave toy that keeps your 15mo occupied for hours on end!? LOL

Thanks Ladies!

Benedryl. LoL I gave my daughter Tylenol so that her ears wouldn't hurt her and she slept the whole ride.
Why don't you try coloring ( I mean she will probably try to eat it so you will have to keep a close eye), but it it endless fun learning to color.

Coloring is a great idea...we tried crayons yesterday at Chili's...she ate them! LOL But, I've been meaning to buy these Crayola Tadoodle things for her. They have paint, markers, crayons...guess I get to make a trip to Target today!
Thanks for the suggestion!

We flew when Darlene was 16 mos. I got a small dvd player and that helped so much. I also bought her a seat so I could strap her in her car seat. I used the color wonder markers so it would not get on anything in the plane. I also got her a few new toys she had never seen I had 1 for the ride there and 1 for the ride back and 1 more just incase. Lots of snacks. But the dvd things was the best for yes.We also flew right around her nap and bedtimes and that helped because she would sleep for some of the trip alos on layovers we let her run around before we made her get back on another flight.

Watching...

I will be taking a trip to Hawaii next March, when my daughter will be right at 14 months old. It's gonna be a long-ass flight...a direct flight from ATL to Honolulu is over 9 hours long!

Try to keep baby awake till the flight. Maybe baby will sleep through the flight if you are lucky.

They used to recommend benadryl, but sometimes it can make them hyper instead of sleepy.

I took my son on a plane when he was 15 months old. He was great, he loved looking out the window, and played with stickers and band aids the whole flight. My sister, my son and I were all covered in them when we landed, but they kept him busy.

We leave tomorrow morning and will be flying back on the 29th. Kailee gets back from her dads & is also flying into ATL on the 29th...so we are having one last fun filled weekend in Atlanta before Kailee & Ryan both start school on the 2nd! I'm going to be exhausted...so wish me luck! LOL

My pediatrician is having me give benadryl too. We are flying 9 1/2 hrs to Hawaii in a few weeks. My son is 16 mos old i'm praying if I try to keep him up the night before he'll sleep most of the way.

I just flew with a 13 month old last weekend. She was amazing. I didn't give her any benadryl or anything. I brought plenty of snacks, her pacis, her sippy cup, and a lot of books. She can read books for hours. She liked looking out the window. She also liked taking the pamphlets out of the pocket of the seat in front of us and looking at them. I talked to her a lot about different things we were doing too. I told her about being up in the sky, the clouds, the colors of the sky and the clouds. She liked looking at all of the people on the plane... It wasn't too bad.

but how long was your flight? My son has done well up to three hours on a plane but then he gets bored, wants to run around, etc.
