Baby's weight, Gestational...diabetes....needed to let it o

Hi all. Well today i got another sonogram to check on the baby since i have GD. Well last time i got it done the computer somehow got the wrong measurements and they told me that he weas weighting about 7 pnds and 2 ounces. I was so sad since he was supposed to be just a little over 4 pounds. And that meant that the Diabetes was getting to him, and he was gaining weight because of it. Well today teh lady told me that they she keapt coming with a different result. She keapts getting 5 pounds and 14 ounces, i wa sliek wow how can he lose weight in there? the lady said that they only stop growing or gain weight not loose weight. Iw as like ahh? well she spoke to some other lady and they came up with the conclusion that the other lady that did it last time got the right calculation but the computer got something else, IDK. im still like ahh?, but yayyyy, excited too. I dont mind having a chubby chuky baby. which i want miens ot be like that when he is out of my womb.But for him to gain all this mich weight inside me and the diabetes making him do so is not sometign i want, or any mommmie wants. Well that was all ladies. IM JUST SO HAPPY. yayyyyyyyyy. He is a normal size baby in there. and the good thing is that he is not really getting all that suagar trasnferred to him. thank god i am monitoring it 4 times a day and watching what i eat so it won't convert into sugar then go into him.

oh! that is wonderful news! i go tomorrow morning to get bloodwork done and have to do the testing for GD again. fingers crossed, i'm still doing ok!

good luck mami, I was so sad when they called me back saying that i failed the 3 hr test. I just dont want him having it.

i know lol,. i was so mad at the lady that did it 2 weeks ago, since she told me he was over 4 pounds, then i was like i could of told myself that, since i read that a 7-8 months baby can be around 4 pounds. But she was rushig when she said it. then 2 days alter i got ot my reg doc office and he says that hte baby is 7 pounds and 2 ounces, i was like what a b*tch.... i was so hot and mad at the lady, thinking that she had lied. I wanted to go to her clinic and beat her up for rushing and lying. then today the other lady tell sme this, im like what the heck. Let see what the doc is going to say when i got for my weekely check up weds. Let hope all is good. And they don't keep changing their minds.  

I also got Gd and hoping my baby isn't gonna be a moose!!  Nah I love chubby babies but do not want my baby unhealthy.I have been checking my sugars 3times a day and trying to watch what I have.Weird sometimes they are perfect and then bam they are horrible.Hope they will send me soon for a weight check(u/s) so I can be prepared..Glad to hear your babies fine!!

Im glad that your happy.. I had GD and was horrified when they told me that my baby was going to come out 9lbs+. I was even put on insulin to prevent him from growing too big. And I kept thinking how am I going to push this big thing outta me??

Well.. my son ended up being 7lb8oz. .... he lost 10oz in the hospital and by 3 weeks had barely made it back up to his birth weight. I was so happy that I didnt have a huge baby.. but now hes so tiny and I kind of wish he was bigger.

Either way.. the ultrasounds can be wrong. But you will do great and I know the baby will come out at a healthy weight as long as your taking care of yourself and it definatly sounds like you are.

well this is a LONG time about lol but when my mom had my older brother he was alomst 11lbs due to gd and she had no idea she had it..
he looked like he was about 3 months when he was born. we see pictures now and laugh but boy i wouldnt wish that on anyone..lol

I have GD too..... I'm 37w 3d and mine's only at 7lbs 5oz via ultrasound...you do know that those estimates can be off by a pound or more?

If your sugars are well controlled, you won't have an excessively large baby. Diabetes itself doesn't make the baby big - High blood sugars do.... so if you ever start having problems with diet and excercise, there are meds that they can give you to help control sugars a bit better - not just insulin. I take glyburide to help me maintain.....   it's okay mama. Just make sure your sugars stay good, and baby won't have problems. But if you start having problems, make sure to let doc know immeadiately - high sugars do more than just make baby big!!!

I want a chuky chubby fat face baby, lol, but nt coming out of me, I want him to get like that after the birth.   I so love chubby babies. But hte thought of him getting Diabetes and being born with it its killing me. Thats why i keapt a strict diet on what i eat since mostly everything turns into sugar in my blood. I love dirnking water but now i have to drink way more because water will disolve the suagr in my blood if its too hight. Plus they have me on glyboride(sp)? pills. to be able to control it. ughhh i just can't wait to see my babys face and get this GD over with.

ya mine was oughta whack my last pregnancy.I gave birth to her last year and she was 7lbs and 5oz...and my sugars stayed high the whole pregnancy as well as my blood pressure but she was not huge at all.

lol ya my girl is now a tank but shes bottom heavy..big thighs and big ole booty  also omg her cheeks are so chubby i love it..but thank god shes healthy..

Another thing is that i am not a a person that eats candy or suagrish stuff on a daily or weekly basis. Maybe like once a month on a craving type, yeahh i craved stuff when i wasnt preg, lol. But know that i can't have anything sugarish, i keep wanting some applepie with milk, this nice hot fudge umm , the hot choc. with the vanilla icecream. ummumumum. I dont know why i keep craving that now that i can't have it.

I too have GD, and at 37 weeks 2 days, my lil man is 7 lbs and 5 ounces.....
im lucky not to be on ne meds for mine, i just have to monitor 4x's daily, and watch my diet... next week my doc said they may decide to induce depending on his weight since his norm trend is 1 pound every two weeks which would make him 8 lbs 5 ounces next monday... and they dont want him past that. nor can i go past 40 weeks. its a lot of crap to deal with but i guess its worth it, as long as our lil ones are healthy and dont get diabetes too.....

On a good note, just keep remindin urself that after u have the baby the GD will be gone.... and we all can have a HUGE hot fudge sundae..... with extra fudge.. lol
