posted 18th Aug
I have been told not to cut my baby's nails until he's at least a month? my son is only 1 days old..
but he keeps scratching himself up! all over his face : /
and he screams the whole time his little gloves are on.
how old were ur babies when u cut their nails?

yes...please cut them! If you don't feel comfortable doing it, get your mom or someone who does....my daughter did that right after she was born...it was horrible! I had my mom do it because I was so nervous, but after I watched her...I felt better about it.

a friend of mine uses socks instead of mittens - her little guy hated the mittens, but tolerated the socks.... instead of cutting them, if you have a baby file, maybe you could file them?

My daughter's were always too long to let go too.

You could always try filing them if you are scared to cut them. They are like paper thin and they will bend on you! lol

bite the sharp parts off or tear them off is what the doc told me...don't use clippers yet.

Noooo! cut them!
when my son was in the nursery, a nurse took his little mittens off and he scratched the shit out of his face.
or you can always file them if you feel uncomfortable cutting them

OMG, I cutmy daughter's nails the day we got home from the hospital because she kept cutting her face up with her nails...don't worry, justmake sure to do it while they're asleep, snce some of them tend to get wiggly when you hold thier hands for too long.

I just file Charlie's down, and then peel them off if there is a jagged edge. He's 5 weeks and we haven't had any issues yet.
