Best rest...

posted 18th Aug
So i went to my last ultrasound on friday and i told her that i was dialated to about 1 centimeter (my doctor told me that last visit) so she checked my cervix via ultrasound and told me that i had to see my doctor. So i saw my doctor and she told me i am about 2 centimeters already and put me on strict bed rest for a week till this coming friday and also put me on terbutaline, so i did research on the medication and i found out that it can cause brain damage to the baby and i went off it today...I am just freaked because Chloe isnt due till October 3rd and i am so scared to deliver her early i am 33 weeks 34 on friday...I just dont know if my doctor will put me on bed rest till i am 37 weeks which freaks me out because i have so much to do to prepare for her....Any one in this situatuion or can give me some advice??? I mean will she be premie if she is born at 37 weeks??? Please help me out!!!!

I've never heard of a woman actually experiencing negative side effects to her fetus because of the terbutaline. If the benefits didn't outweight the risks, your doctor wouldn't put you on it. 34 weeks is a great point to get to. For many babies, this can even mean no NICU time. Have you been given the steroid shots? I don't think many doctors do bed rest past 34-36 weeks. Hang in there. What's important is having a healthy baby, not having everything ready. Good luck.
