debating on double stroller
posted 18th Aug
Well my first daughter is 3 1/2 will be 4 in Jan and i'm debating weather or not to buy a double stroller, my first is old enough to walk but when it comes to certain places I get nerves, like the state fair, a big park, I feel safer knowing she is safe by myside! I dono am I over reacting? My hubby and I are kinda at a disagreement about it because the double is plenty more then a reg stroller and he said O gracies fine she is old enought to walk! Please help ladies, I just need some advice! Thanks

I wouldn't do it. There will be a time, probably very soon where she'll simply be too big for her half and then it will be a very large and cumbersome thing to push around just for one. If anything, I'd get one of the sit and stands so she can hitch a ride on the back if she gets tired.

I was 4 when my sister was born and mymom got a LOT of use out of the double stroller. Places like the zoo, the fair, etc... It's too much walking for a 4 year old to do without getting tired and cranky early on and having to be carried. I would say, definitely go for the double stroller. I would.

They can be kind of a pain in the butt, and handle like a bus. Some of them tend to tip over if you try to turn. Depends on the model of course. But if you feel unsafe with her walking it's all up to you.

I would feel the same way if I was in your situation. I would definitely concider getting a double stroller

My son was 10 days shy of turning 3 when our daughter was born...I've never needed a double stroller! We've been to concerts in the park, daily trips to the mall, play group, the zoo...etc! Not to mention I was pretty much a single mom, my husband spent the first 14 months of our daughters life over seas...I juggled our 3 kids, just fine! I'm sure you'll be OK too! My opinion is that you won't "need" one...but if you want one...get it!

I took my 4 year old and 7 month old to Disney World this weekend. I only brought my single stroller and she was fine the whole day walking. We were there from about 10 in the morning to about 9 at night.

Maybe look into getting one of the sit and stand strollers. There is room for the baby to sit in the front and then in the back there is a spot for the older child to either stand and most of them have a little seat type thing if they wanna sit down.

If you think you msy need one what abouta sit and stand stroller. Baby trend makes one that can be used with a back seat or the sit and stand part and so does one step ahead.

I would get either a sit and stand or a regular stroller and a child harness (they have them in all kinds of stores ) I ahave a 14 mo and a 3 yro and one on the way and I amusing the harness for 3 yo and double stroller for the babies since they are so young. 3 yo wants to walk anyway not sit in the stroller

You could always buy a buggy board for whatever single stroller you choose! They are pretty universal and attach to most models. She'll still have to stand, but atleast she's not walking at that lovely 3yo foot dragging pace! LOL

keep in mind that a double stroller isn't suitable for shopping with.... it's great in big spaces like zoos and parks and such... but try to maneuver it in mall stores, or even walmart and you'll find it difficult for you and a pain in the ass for anyone trying to get around you...... not to mention the amount of things you'll knock over LOL.......
My mo had one for my twin brothers, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you just can't get by without one.
