Two months old is too young yet. If he is cryig its because he needs you. I didn't let Aryah cry herself to sleep till she was around around 9 months.

yeah at 2 months they aren't crying just to be a pain in the butt they actually need something from you, food, diaper change, snuggles, it's a bit too early.

It's young to let them cry for several minutes to get to sleep. But I don't think it's necessary to pick him up at the littlest fuss. My 3 month old daughter fusses herself to sleep, and if you pick her up, she actually cries more. it's like she WANTS to lie down. Once we noticed this, we realized she just fusses to get to sleep - it's sort of just how she rolls. So when we can tell she's getting ready to go to sleep, we lie her down in her crib and stay there with her in case she needs us. She usually fusses a bit for 2 minutes or so and then finds her thumb and closes her eyes. If she starts to really fuss is when we pick her up.

So long way around - I think it's OK to let them fuss a little, but if they really start crying, yes indeed pick them up and soothe!

My husband thought the SAME THING! When we were in the hospital he was already trying to say I was holding the baby too much and he didnt want me to spoil her....a nurse overheard him and quickly set him straight!!!
You cannot spoil an infant! and 2months is TOO young for crying it out..they will develop trust issues if done too early...and besides..how could anyone watch there little baby cry and do nothing?..

Lol...my 8 wk old is the same way...she sleeps in her rocker next tomy bed and she'll cry..so I go to pick her up and she just cries more..so what I found works is I let her just look up at me and I hold her hand, or rock her rocker and she falls asleep just knowing that I am there

2 months is too young.  Like Amanda said, 4-6 months is the best age.
