So my son's father just called me screaming at me. He says I never invite him to come see his son, which is a lie, I gave him days and times to come see him he just never shows up...Well now he's saying he's going to bring the sheriff over and take him from me...I just wanted to know if they would really let him take him.
He doesn't have a carseat, doesn't know how to change his diaper, and plus I'm breastfeeding. He just doesn't know how to take care of a baby at all.
I have custody papers filed but I don't know when the court date will be yet, and I'm waiting for the papers to serve him with. So I don't know if that helps at all if he really does bring the cops over?

I don't know the law for navada but I don't belive they can do that...
they can't prove you're a bad mom...i hope i'm right..i'm sorry about the situation...

Nope the sheriff will just tell him it's a legal matter and there is nothing they can do.

i was told (like 6 years ago) that if there are no papers stating who has custody, possession is 9/10ths of the law... meaning that he lives with u, a cop wont take your son away...

But it IS his son so they might.. but I doubt they would do that.

Def not. It's considered a civil dispute, and they will tell him to take it to court. My ex had the paperwork saying it was his weekend with the kids, and she was refusing to let him take him. They told him sorry, there is nothing we can do.

i think he's trying to scare you. you can always call the police dept(Not 911) and tell them what he's said and that it sounds threatening to you and you want to know if he can really do that. it never hurts to find out your options and it never hurts to have something like this on record.

I think I might just call the police department and ask them about it and see what they say.
He is pretty much a deadbeat. And plus I really think he's on drugs, and he drinks and drives ALOT.
Last thing I want is my son to be with him unsupervised.

well here in texas the cops can't do anything. i had my sons full custody and when his dad took him away the lazy cops never did anything. they said they couldn't. now i just have a restraining order on him so i won't have to worry about that for a loooong time
