how important are prenatal vitamins?

im 16 weeks pregnant and have not yet taken any vitamins for my baby. could that be hurting her?

very much so. They have $10 ones at drug stores. Go buy some fast! This is the most important time to be taking them!

VERY important. it gives your baby all the nutrients it needs. it is also vital in his/her development.

Judging by the way that most people eat now days, I would say yes, they are important.  Start taking them right away.  You need so many things from them.  Folic Acid to be specific.  

It is very important to take them. you can buy then at meijer in the baby aisles. also you can take the flinstones vitamens they are okay to take too. i was taking those for a while because my others one were making me sick and my doc told me to take the flinstones.

Women went years without prenatal vitamins and they had terrible food choices. Its not completley horrible but you should at least take the flintstones vitamins. It makes you feel alot better when your feeling crappy.

Why aren't you taking them? TBH the first few weeks are most important, but it is never too late to do the right thing. And yes, a diet deficient in folic acid can cause spinal/brain/nervous system defects, too low in iron can cause hypoxia, etc.

i have a bunch but i cant seem to remember t otake them every day.. i take them but not liek i should  

I get mine at Walmart and they are pretty cheap. But, its very important to be taking vitamins.

Any store brand is fine, they usually have a pink label on them.

Your growing baby needs, among other ingredients, the folic acid.

i think you can also take 2 flinstones vitamins a day if you dont like the pills just fyi

they are really important so you need to start taking them asap!! i take blackmores pregnancy and breastfeeding gold. they are pretty expensive but
