Depo Shot...

Hello Ladies! I know there are quite a few threads for this, but I didn't quite get the answers I was looking for on them... I was just wondering, what were your experiences with the Depo shot... When I had it, It messed me up pretty bad... As you can see I'm pregnant now, so obviously I'm still able to have children, but I wonder if the shot has long term effects, like making it more difficult to concieve, or anything of that nature. It took me a year and a half to get pregnant after I stopped that shot. It also made my hair fall out, and I gained a lot of weight... Any of your experiences would be appreciated!

HATED it. I gained 100 pounds+ while on it, lost my sex drive and was a total bitch. Allt he threads I have seen, 1 out of 10 women said they liked it lol. Good luck with it.

I had it and had my period for 3 months straight, I put on about 13kgs (30 pound) and generally hated it big time.

I'd say that the only good thing that came from it, was the fact that I didn't get my period... But if you think about it... If something is messing with your body enough to stop your period, it's probably possible for it to leave some lasting effect... But hey, you could be that one out of ten that likes it!

yeah a lot of women get it before asking other women then regret it lol.
I was lucky to NOT get my period for 6 years while on it, but a lot of women bleed constantly for months at a time.

It's so weird the difference in effects that people have from it... I didn't get my period AT ALL...

I was put on it at first because of my ovarian cysts and another problem where my ovaries contract, the pain was hell. BUt the shot somehow made the pain go away. But never again would I even think about going on it. I believe it ruined my life. It was nice having sex andwhere any time though lol.

yeah i wish i didnt, it was the worst 3 months.. i already had low iron and to bleed for 3 months is NOT GOOD...

The shot is exactly the same as the implanon, just in a 3 month shot rather than a 3 year slow release rod... I work in a pharmacy and there are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many side effects its not funny... you may be the occassional person who loves it but most hate it!

I hated it. I gained so much weight also and I felt dirty without my period. I like the nuvaring.

I was on Nuvaring before the depo shot, and I Lo0o0oved it... That's what I plan on going back on after this baby... I never should have switched, but the idea of not having a period EVER was all that I was thinking about :-)

never gained weight, had my hair fall out or anything. If anything i lost weight , i still had a sex drive and didnt get my peroid at all. And only took me about 3 months to get pregnant after i got of it. I have no complaints. But im switching to the pill soon.

I was told the nuvaring is bad. If you strain too hard going #2 it can come out easily or even come out during sex... I am going on the IUD thingy, I THINK. Dunno since it can cause infections and tubal pregnancies...

did u get pregnant on depo?
