Colicy?

posted 16th Aug
I'm not sure if my daughters colicy but she stays up all night crying, from around 12am to 8am. She sleeps fine during the day though. At night she'll fall asleep on many chest but as soon as I put her in her crib she starts crying again. Is this colicy? Anyone can give me any advice on what I should do?

she might just have her days and nights mixed up. I could never lay my kids in their cribs either, but I just hated to hear them cry. How long to you let her cry? maybe she would just cry it out? Once I layed mine in bed with me and they could feel me there next to them they would go right to sleep.

It's possible. But try laying her at an incline to sleep. She could have some reflux discomforts.

Doctors diagnose it as colic if they cry at least 3 hours a day on at least 3 days a week. Sounds like she's got her days & nights mixed up to me though...

my daughter was the same way when she was only 2 weeks old, She'd only sleep on my chest, and hated to be laid down tofor bed at night. So I just started laying her on her tummy to sleep.
I figured out it was gas. So I do the bicycle leg thing before bed and that helps....

Colic is crying when you hold them to. So if shes not crying when you hold her and if she sleeps shes got either he days and nights messed up or she wants to be held and not put in her crib. My oldest didnt want to sleep in his crib either. I let him sleep with me tell he was about 10 months I want to say and OMG breaking him was horrible. My dad always tells me that if you can get your kids to be quiet for a few minutes when you think they are colic they are NOT colic I was colic and my dad says it was the worst thing in the world! My parents slept in shifts! Ha THANK GOD MY KIDS ARENT! Anyways just talk to your doctor. They would know more then anyone!

My baby is like that too... she only slept on my chest, on my bed, in her bouncer chair - anywhere but her crib. It started when she was 3 weeks old, but I started to put her back in her crib again. I tried rotating her so that she sleeps on the other side, it seems to work now. She still sleeps on my chest, but I move her to the crib when I can.

My baby cries for hours if I force her to sleep in her crib but when she's asleep on my chest, I move her to the crib carefully. It took a while before I could move her carefully!

Yeah that's how it is with me!
During the day she'll sleep fine in her crib but at night if I put her in it she'll cry and won't stop crying till I pick her up. She'll fall asleep on my chest and I try to put her in her crib as quietly as I can but once she hits that mattress she wakes up and starts crying again. She'll do that till like 8am and around that time she's so exhausted that she'll just sleep even if I put her in her crib.

you know, I think they are still getting used to being babies outside of the womb. Hang in there, it will get better soon

Don't start rocking her... it was my own damn fault. I started rocking her, now I can't stop or she starts wailing, crying non stop!!! Hugs and picking her up isn't good enough anymore... What kinda worked was putting a tiny beanie babie toy on her, she thinks my hands are still on her!!!!

It's super duper hard to put a baby in the crib quietly. But do try to put a beanie babie or a small stuffed toy on her... it'll make her feel like you're there.

I just did the toy thing tonight with mine and it worked! I put it under her arm.

It's NO FUN!!! I had my baby shower yesterday and all the poor guests were dying....central air conditioning is the only upgrade my husband didn't get in this house when he bought it (when do we have REALLY hot days here???!) but we are concidering getting it for next summer. We got an AC unit for our bedroom though, so that helps but yeah....I am actually excited for rain ha ha ha!!! This way too, I don't feel guilty about sitting at home and being cozy in bed!! Thanks for asking!
