Couldn't find the baby

posted 16th Aug
I went for my first ultrasound for my eight week visit and the doctor didn't see a baby...just the sac. He told me to get my hcg levels checked to see if they would go up. They went from 13,000 to 17,560 which means that they did not double...but they did indeed go up! Now i have to wait a whole week for another ultrasound to find out if there really is a baby in there or not. I'm not taking all of this very well...and can't seem to stop feeling sad.

Sorry to hear that mama, but keep on the positive side - they didn't drop they went up which is hopefully a good sign. Will keep you in my prayers!!!

Yeah, try not to worry and think for the positive. Maybe he or she is just hiding. Playing hide and seek with mama, already.

Don't worry, momma. I'm sure everything will be fine. You're little peanut was probably just being shy. If your levels are going up that should be a good sign. I'll say a prayer for you, and hope all goes well. Keep us posted!

Stay positive and try not to make yourself sick with worry. My baby didn't show up on the us the first time either. It was scary and the week wait nearly killed me. I know what you're going through, and it's rough. So please, for your own sake, try to stay positive!

I am so sorry to hear that! But hopefully your dates may just be wrong and too early to see anything yet. Be positive sweetie!

There is definitely hope. My oldest couldn't be found when I was 9 weeks and they wanted to do a D&C right away. I chose to wait it out and see...three weeks later there he was bouncing on the screen. And since your HCG levels did go up...well, baby could still be fine! Keep us updated!

Dont worry to much. This happened with all 3 of mine. They did not see them on ultrasound until around 10 weeks and my levels never doubled with any of them.
