Uhm excuse me! people seem to think that a 28 year old would do better as a mother to her first child; BULLSHIT! If its your first child no matter what age you are its a learning experience. NOONE is EVER ready to be a mother because they dont know what it will be like if they have never been through it personaly

I think its funny that most teens now days think its "cool" to have kids. They think in their heads that..."hmmm, I am still in school, have no money and have no clue how I am going to provide for this baby...maybe my family will, but I will have unprotected sex anyways..because I do "love" my amazing boyfriend of ...*ahem*..2 months and we will be together "forever"!! (bf leaves when finds out gf pregnant) Now teen lives off welfare and tax payers get to pay for it!!! Yippeee, please keep spreading your legs!!

I'm 18, just graduated high school, and am 6 weeks pregnant. I'm also doing the "bad kid" thing and not telling my mother... until I'm in Florida for college, at least. I'm leaving in August so I'll probably tell her a couple of weeks after I get down there, to give her some time to adjust to me being gone. I know she's not going to take it well, she doesn't even want me to go to college now because then she won't have anyone to take care of her and help my grandmother pay the bills (she had a wreck last July and hasn't worked since then, so I'm stuck buying groceries and her cigarettes.) I'm also an only child, and she's incredibly lonely even with me here (she's a single mom). I wish I could tell her now, but neither me nor her need that stress right now. I'm used to doing things without support, and it's hard enough for me to adjust to my boyfriend and his family and the few friends we've told being so supportive. However, I don't have any close friends who've gone through pregnancy, so sites like this have been really great for me to get some contact from people with personal experience.

On the subject of teen pregnancy, I know this is going to be extremely hard. I'm just starting college in August, and I don't know if I'll be able to handle my second and third trimesters while juggling a job and studying. However, I think I'm going to be a better mother than my own mom, who was 32 when she got pregnant and still working minimum wage, so I've grown up in extreme poverty, among other problems. I turned out really good against all odds, though, and I'm a very loving and motherly person even before the pregnancy. With the father's help, I'm looking forward to raising this baby.

haha yeah thats exactly what i thought when i got pregnant at 16. i thought i was sooo cool.

NO i thought how the hell am i going to be able to do this? i didnt get pregnant on purpose. don't assume you know what every person is thinking. you know what i think a lot of these teens that get pregnant derserve a little respect. i finished high school. i'm in college and i have raised an awesome kid. i made my life extremely hard but i did not want to kill an innocent baby for my mistake. and i wouldnt even take it back if i could because i'm an amazing mother and i couldnt imagine my life without my son. so don't judge teens who get pregnant because you don't know their story or their reasoning. not to mention there are women who get pregnant in their 20's and 30's who still end up on welfare, its not just teens. hell i see more middle-aged white trash people at that office than i see young teens. and yes my son gets medicaid for insurance but thats it. and like i feel good about getting that? no i don't i feel like white trash. but until i finish my college and get a better job than i have now thats the best i can do. i still work and i still provide for my son. what makes you better than the rest of us?????

your right..bt we also have to agree that theres still many teen moms who just throw the kids to their parents..most of the girls i know did this.but that dosent mean all of us are bad..im a teen mom pregnant with my second..i married my babies father and i still go to school..and im a great mom...its all possible evn if ur a teen mom...but like i said theres still many irresponsible ones..but that type of behaivor is also seen on grown woman.so i dont think is about age cause i have also seen many great teen moms tht still go t school, it just depends on the type of person u are. many people had doubts tht i wasnt going to finish school when i got pregnant with my first.but im proud to say im i made it! i finish in November and start college.i made it being a mother of two and a wife!! its all possible!

I have to agree on this.some of the moms are using drugs and are abusive(but not all) and all this leads to is hild abuse...its so sad!!! i had a friend who has a one year old and she would say that she would slap her baby when he cried..i was like u need to deal with it that baby dint ask to be brought.she does drugs and also got left by the babydaddy..its just sad for the kids!

I think its all true and not true. I know plenty of older people that have adult "children" and they all went to college got married THEN had kids. i got pregnant when i was 15. He was not a mistake or an accident but he wasnt planned. no one should say that their children are "mistakes" OR "accidents". and i had my PLANNED 2nd child almost 3 years later not 24 months later like the statistics say. And any child whether it be from a 15 year old mother or a 30 year old mother will only get pregnant or go to prison b/c of their own mistakes not completely b/c of the parentling done. Yes there are alot of teen mothers who don't that great of a job but some of them are trying their hardest. I go to school and work full time and still take wonderful care of my kids. What they need comes before anything no matter what! Doesnt matter how tired or worn out you are their needs come before you and your needs...and as for the comment about the welfare shit...my boys get medicaid yes, but thats it. but i know ALOT of mothers all up to their 40s that still need the govt. assistance. thats what it is for to HELP people when the need it so dont put them people down!

I was reading everyone's posts &* I would just like to say Thank You to all of you who are actually trying to help support us teen moms.I,personally, have suffered some pretty difficult hardships being pregannt in my teen years. But,the thing of it is...I never really considered myself the average teen[the one that parties, hangs out with friends, etc.]I've always been sort of the black sheep.I don't like to party,I don't drink[nor do I WANT to]&* I don't smoke.[Which is more than I can say about most teens I know]And as far as diet goes,I've never really LIKED junk food.I've always loved healthy foods like spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.I never really knew what I wanted to do with my life but I always knew one thing...I dreamed of being a mom since I was a little girl.I just never knew itd be at 17!I realize that being a mom is harder than I could ever imagine it to be so Im not going to sit here &* lie &* say that I'm ready to have a baby or take on the MANY responisibilities of being a teen mom,But...I am EXCITED.Since I really didnt HAVE much of a social life before I got pregnant...that part wont bother me[as much]Its actually given me more social oppurtunities since most of my friends are pregnant too.I consider myself VERY lucky to have such an awesome support system. My family is very excited to be welcoming Jeremiah into our family &* I know that they will be there for me on my journey into motherhood.I think thats about it![Oh,&* Me &* the father ARE still together &* he is just as excited as I am to be a parent. And we DO intend on getting married,we're just waiting until we can afford to support our new family =)He is amazing!]
Thanks Again!!

i totally get where your coming from..the one thing i dont get about some teen mothers on this site is they are putting down other teen mothers and it is getting really annoying. they out of everyone should know what its like. its harder for teen parents in society b/c everyone seems to think they are going to become another statistic, but that is only true if you let it. i wish you all the luck with your baby! becoming a mother (no matter the age) is the best experience a woman can ever go threw!

Thank You(:
I think all of us teen moms should just prove society wrong &* be the BEST parents we can possibly be!Them putting us down &* counting us out should give us more reasons to just keep our heads held high &* raise our babies the RIGHT way(: Which I,for one, intend on doing!&* I will NOT feel ashamed just to have a miracle in my life,&* I will NOT let anything that anyone says prevent me for going far in life.Screw statistics! Each one of us is unique &* in our own, different situation,Let's prove them WRONG!!

1stoff I myself can go and edit wikipedia and so can my little brother that is only 8! ANYONE CAN! 2nd off I 'm going to be a teen mom and my family doesn't help me or my husband we have been doing everything. I know what it means to have a real job and to keep it. I know what it means to pay rent, elc, water, cable and everything else. I know what it mean to have your own car and pay for my own gas! I am only 18 and I started doing all this at the age of 17. I have a job go to school paid for my own weddin in fulland pay for all my bill on my own! & I'm not in any kind of debt!

But it does make me really mad when I see girls my age living at home with mommy and daddy making babies and then running around with a new born on their hip like its a new handbag that everyone wants!

I try to keep in mind that not everyone is in the same situation that I am in,just like I'm not in the same situation that they are in.Each one of us is as different &* unique as the daily routine we go through everyday.I don't think its fair for people to judge others just because they're in a situation that we look down upon.We should really try to stick together.&* for those teens who DO act like a newborn is a hot new accessory, let them learn the hard way that it isn't,by any means, anything to crave at such a young age, especially living at home with your parents &* still living off of them.I do live with my mom but I'm not by any means, ashamed &* I will not move out until I know that I can support myself as well as my son &* anybody else who comes along.
Like I said;we should all stick together(:
