Cervical Biopsy

Yeah I had one done. It hurts a little...and you do bleed a little and for about 1-2 days you have stuff come out that looks like coffee grains. It basicly like a pap smear but they spray yellow disinfectant stuff after they open you up and after they do that they actually take a piece of ur cervix....and they use a big telescope looking thing and look in there to. SOOO kinda like a pap smear but more painful

I had it done about 10 years ago. It turned out I was at the stage right b4 it turned into cancer. I had 2 options....2 get the cells frozen and chance it coming back to haunt me, or get LEEP surgery. I went with the LEEP. Neither the colposcopy nor the surgery hurt at all. They numb ya up pretty good. It's all outpatient and the surgery takes 2 days to heal. Then u go back for a pap every 3 months for a year...then twice a year....then back to normal paps once a year. Both my sisters had their abnormal cells frozen and had to get the procedure done again ...so I opted for the LEEP and I still went on to get pregnant! It's totally safe. Please don't worry about it. Ask your gynecologist about the LEEP surgery.

Yeah...it dont really hurt hurt...just kinda uncomfortable. I mean you got people in your va-jay-jay for about 5 mins......but ur not sore after it or anything.

Mine didn't hurt, and it wasn't any more uncomfortable than a normal pap. When I went in the nurse explained everything they would do. For me, they had some normal household distilled vinegar. they use a large q-tip on a large stick and swab your cervix area with it. They told me that something in the vinegar responds with the light they have and anything abnormal lights up when they look. my doctor ended up taking a small sample and he told me I might feel a pinch. I never did. so I guess I had a good one. and I didn't bleed. I think I might of had a small spot after the biopsy but that was it.

I had it done about a month before I got pregnant. The actual process didn't hurt too much, but by the time my doc was done, I was cramping and in so much pain. I ended up having to lay there for a while because I couldn't get up. I'm sure that's not a normal reaction, though, so you shouldn't have much to worry about.
