My f*cking mother.

So today I had to run up to the social security office to request a replacement social security card. I asked my mom to watch Edan so I could take her car because it's better on gas (she drives an 04 cavalier, i drive a 96 jeep cherokee) and it's hard to get the carseat in and out of a 2 door car.
When I come back I ask where the baby is, she tells me Ryan ( boyfriend ) has him. Ryan was sleeping when I left. I walk into the room where Ryan and the baby are and he proceeds to tell me that he woke up to the baby screaming in his crib, he was beat red like he had been in there for at least a half an hour, he had spit-up (he has reflux) and he was screaming because he was rubbing his face in it. It was up his nose and in his hair. My mom's in the damn kitchen doing ditches, right next to the baby's room.
I understand if the baby is crying for no reason.
He needed a diaper change and was gagging on his own puke.
Before I lost my job she used to babysit him, makes me fucking wonder what the hell went on while I was at work for 8 hours.
I am so upset.
Needless to say she will not be watching him again.

oh wow. that is not right at all! even if she was trying that "let them cry it out" thing, youre at least supposed to check on them every 5 or 10 minutes!
Did you say anything to her? I would have probablygone off on her....
But i think your decision to exclude her from baby-watching duties was a good one. My mother-in-law has NO respect whatsoever for the way I do things with Autumn (ie, i DO NOT put her to bed on her belly, she does. I didnt want to give her water until she was at least 4 months old, she chose to go against my wishes....and thats only a few things!) needless to say, autumn no longer stays overnight with her anymore.
i think you need to have a serious heart-to-heart with mommy dearest. That really isnt cool.
good luck

That's bullshit.
Your so lucky you have a responsible spouse though. It's nice to hear about for once.
