CPS

So, I finally called CPS on my neighbors. They have not had electricity in 2 weeks, in August in Louisiana. We have given them over a hundred dollars for food for their kids and I cleaned out my pantry and gave them food. They have 3 kids living in the hot house. I have caught their kids eating our cat food and they always come over here to beg for food. They are dirty and the parents don't do anything for them. I feel bad for the kids and finally called yesterday. Well, today the social worker came out and talked to them and CPS actually paid to get them water back on and elecrticity back on and the bills up to November. Now I feel like I helped them out. I still think they are horrible parents but they do not beat their kids and now the kids will atleast have a home with electricity and water. There really isn't a point to this post, I am just glad they got help.

CPS is a fucking joke..if they really wanted to help those kids they would have taken them out of the home. Hopefully they will check up on them.

do they have jobs or are they just draining tax payers?? you did the right thing i am glad you were able to help.

aw! you did help them alot, maybe there parents will feel like they have a fresh start and work towards the good! The other good thing is they will keep it up because the worker will probley come check on them and the kids all the time.

  poor babes. hopefully they will pay after november, highly doubtful though, they will prollylet it go back off ad this will all start again   sucks. but hopefully next time they move the kids out.

I think CPS does what they can.

I am glad CPS down there gives a shit because CPS here dosen't. They have been called SOOOOOOOO many times on my ex-stepmother and they investigate and don't care. I was not the one calling either it was people how lived by her and people at her church.

Cat food? Their children are eating cat food? I'm- I can't even imagine. Poor babies. I hope that they get the help they need and good for you for one- giving them so much of your own and two- calling when you realized they need longterm help.

I wish they would of took the kids in a way but then how can you say their lives would be better. I mean I would feel horrible taking their kids from their parents but if they do not improve then I will call again. The dad is "supposibly" in the Navy. Since they have lived there for a year though, he sits on his porch all day and smokes cigarettes. They say he is on disablity and waiting to get paid. So hopefully he will get paid so they can feed their kids. I gave them tons of food yesterday so that should last them for a couple days and the oldest daughter is here right now and is staying for dinner. I try to help out but then I have no sympathy on the other hand bc he can fuckin afford to smoke. I am glad CPS helped out but they are so mad someone called on them. They don't know it is me but they know it is a neighbor. I have a feeling they think it is me. But liek I told them. It is a blessing because now they can have power for their children but they are more worried about figuring out who called.

Wow. I would offer to take those kids in, at least to get them in some air conditioning, have showers, and eat or something for a couple of hours. At least you did the right thing about calling CPS. I can't imagine someone letting their children live like that but maybe they don't have jobs right now and can't pay the bills? Hopefully CPS keeps up with them.
