my labor story...almost 3 months later lol

so on thursday may 22nd I went to my doctors appointment. I was 39 weeks and 6 days and was 0% effaced and not dilated at ALL. I was really disappointed because i thought i would NEVER go into labor. The doctor stripped my membranes and said if that didnt work to come in the next wednesday to set up an appointment to be induced. So i went home extremely depressed because i was SOO tired of being pregnant. Well friday i walked 3 miles trying to get myself going, but nothing. Saturday me and my boyfriend had sex twice to see if THAT would work. But still NOTHING. Sunday i slept all day. When i woke up i was having slight cramps. They progressed to something like pretty bad menstrual cramps. I decided to take a nap and when i woke up around 7 something they were gone. I was really upset because now i was 2 days overdue and felt like i was getting nowhere!! well the cramps returned by 10 and were full blown contractions by 3a.m. I went to the hospital about 5 and was 1 cm dilated. They made me get up and walk around and i jumped to 4 cm within an hour! So they went ahead and admitted me and got me ready. His heartrate kept dropping so they put me oxygen and made me switch positions every 30 minutes. I had to push for over an hour because hed crown, then go back in. He didnt want to come out. Finally at 2:47 p.m on May 26th my son Devon James Harris was born! He was 7 lbs 10 oz and 20 and a half inches long. He and I both had a fever so i only got to hold him for a minute before they took him and i didnt get to see him again until 11 that night. And although he had to stay in the hospital an extra day everything turned out fine. Hes now almost 3 months old and fat and healthy and happy!! Its crazy how you can love something so much before you even SEE it
