I read in one of my pregnacy books, just the other night, that semen has some thing in it that if you are close to your due date could make you go into labor if you have sex. It also said it you swollow it it works better.

The semen doesn't make you go into labor. How your uterus contracts while you're having sex may make you go into labor. The semen that you swallow gets dissolved in the acid in your stomach before it gets to the baby.

what?! It works better when you have sex, becuase something about semen softens yoru cervix.... 

ETA: Swollowing semen does NOTHING... The semen has to be near the vagina in order to work on softening the cervix

Sperm wont make you go into labor their is not enough in the sperm to even come close to make you go into labor! Trust me or i would have had my son alot sooner! I was 3 1/2 days over due when the doc said he had to induce me cuz he was gaining to much weight!
