I was wondering when it came to giving scott food do i go by his actual age or adjusted age...stupid preemie differences...he'll be 4months sept2 but that's 2 months adjusted...I know stupid question...and I know they say don't give them food til 6months but I see people giving them food at 4 months..and my mom and grandma said give him cereal...i know better but still i'm confused...
I would go by adjusted i mean its adjusted for a reason right. And i would just give some ceral if he looks like he is ready for it. I dont think it would hurt anything but thats JMO
adjusted age. my preemie was ready for solids much sooner than my full term daughter though. they are all different. and just b/c he is the "right age" doesnt mean he will be ready. good luck.
My first child started solids at almost 8 months old (5 1/2 months adjusted) and my second started at 6 months of age (4 months adjusted) I strongly suggest waiting. Formula or breastmilk is all an infant needs for the first 6 months of life. Introducing solids can reduce milk intake and that is the last thing a preemie needs. Good luck!
