Significant other or child?

posted 14th Aug
CFC sparked my interest to make a post like this lol....if you had to chose between your SO and your child, who would you chose? There's no other options and you HAVE to chose. (not life or death, butone wasn't going to be in your life anymore)

My uncle told me before that he don't know what he would do because he is going to be with his wife forever, and he is going to raise his son, to leave him one day, and find an amazing relationship with his future wife, just like he has today...and then repeat the cycle ya know? I thought that was an interesting take on it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but in Christianity, doesn't the husband come first, then wife, then children? I'm curious as to what a Chrisitian would say? Would you pick your husband or child?

I love my son and husband equally, but in two completely different ways. So different, I can't even compare the 2. I don't want to be without either, but if I HAD to chose, I'm pretty sure I owuld pick my son because I feel like he needs me more, even though I think my husband needs me pretty badly lol. My husband would understand as well, because he knows Jacob wouldn't be as well taken care of by anyone else. But, at the same token, I feel sadly because I know my husband won't be as loved by anyone else, nor would I, and that's a sucky thing to think about!

Anyways, such a tough hypothetical question but debate and discuss away lol!

I am a Christian, and you're right, the husband is to be your first priority in life. But I personally feel in this situation I would choose my child because my child has his whole life ahead of him and I want to be there to mold him and love and nurture him. My husband can survive on his own. lol

Not in your life anymore as in dead? Or just in someone else's life?

But either one, hands down, my son. No questions asked. Period.

ETA: Nevermind the first sentence, I re-read your post

That's an intresting take on it. what your uncle said. i'm pretty sure i would pick my daughter, but your uncles has a good point too. Not that that would make me want to pick my hubby over my child. But i just see what he was getting at.

My child means more to me than any man ever could. There is no doubt in my mind who I would choose.

I agree, hubby's a big boy and can do for himself, my children cannot.

Great point! I agree with you completely. I would definitely expect my husband to choose our daughter over me, and I'm sure he would expect the same from me.

My son.

I love Rachel...she's an amazing woman.

But if I was forced to choose, it would be Gabriel.

I hope I never have to make that choice.
