When you see a woman dressed like this...

posted 14th Aug '08
Ok, thought that I would bring this up again and offer to try to answer any questions you may have, respectfully since there are so many new members and I get questions in my inbox a lot.....
I was wondering, maybe out of morbid curiosity, what was the first thought that ran through your head when you saw a woman dressed in hijab/niqab walking down the street with her children? Or into a store or where ever?
seen like this....

Please, try to be respectable?

I usually think that it must be terribly hot, and stuffy in there, and I wonder how comfortable the woman is. How is it wearing something covering your face all the time?

Do you get hot?

I really always wonder that... when it's a really warm day, and we're at some event in Seattle or something.

I would hope that she is personally content with the custom to keep herself covered and is living a life that is true to her spirit.

I assume its her religion(sp.. sry) and her right to dress how ever she wants. I also wonder, and I hope this isnt disrespectful, if she gets hot or if its hard to breath with all of that clothing on and cloth covering her mouth and nose.

I think its fine..the only problem is criminals could wear these to hide weapons or identity...the fact you dont know whats under there is scarey.

I see them sometimes and I usually think to myself "man she must be hot" becasue it will be like 90 out and i am sweating in a tank top.

Exactly what I was thinking, but it's approximately a million degrees here today so that's all I can think about.

I think the same exact things I think when I see an Amish woman walking into a store or down the street.. It's their religion as well as their choice.. And, I wonder what they think when they look at us.

Yep, that's what I think...you must be super hot in that. Also, I wonder if they actually like wearing it.
