Let him wiggle it and eventually it will come out on its own. That's how all mine came out.

You don't pull it out by yourself. It will get more loose and more loose, and eventually come out on its own just with him wiggling it around. And 5 yrs old is the normal time for this to start happening, so don't freak out. It is normal.

I am sooooo there with you, my oldest just turned 6 and has his first loose tooth. It is seriously hanging there by a *thread* and so gross looking and I just want it out already! I gave him a peice of laffy taffy last week to eat (he never gets it so he got all excited) and told him to bite down on it and pull it (becuase its super sticky)...but of course he favored the side without the loose tooth, smart kid!

Does your son have his other tooth coming up behind it? Seb had both of his middle bottom teeth coming up behind his very loose tooth and sort of loose tooth and its really freaky looking for him to have a "doublt layer" of teeth.   Our dentist has assured us he is fine, but it still grosses me out.

My mom pulled his tooth tonite lol...it only took like 3seconds and it was out. It bleed a lil..i gave him warm salt water told him to rinse his mouth out and it was over...his other tooth hasnt started coming in behind it. I have a friend i grew up with who's mouth was a hot mess all because her mom didnt pull any of her teeth and all her grown up teeth grew in under the baby one's which caused the grown up teeth to grow in sideways!!! Neither me or my brother ever needed braces and i think thats largly due to my mom and grandmom pulling our teeth and not letting them pile up on each other..lol
