Jungle Nurseries

Sooo we're getting a house at the beginning of September YAY and I will be able to start looking for things for the baby's room and putting the nursery together.

We're doing a jungle theme, but the bedding is a lighter color, light yellows and greens instead of dark greens and browns.

I was just wondering if some of you mommies who did a jungle themed nursery could share some pics with me so I can look at some options. And any advice on where to get some nice accessories or wall hangings would be great! Thanks!

Jungle themes are soooo cute. Are you gonna paint the walls? There was one a girl posted a couple days ago with pictures, she put live plants in the room as well, it looked awesome. I'm at work and don't have time to look for it, but maybe someone will post it. I think it was yesterday.

Aidens room is jungle themed, the pics are in my home stuff album. I think mine is a little darker than what you are looking for though. I got all of my stuff at target, the lamp I got at babys r us.

I'm not sure if we're allowed to paint the walls yet. I was thinking if not I might look for some of those wall sticker decals. Maybe I'll go hunting for that post you're talking about!

That lamp looks like it would match pretty well. I'm planning on getting the same swing that you have. Does it work well?

Yep, he likes it. He falls asleep in it all the time. I like it because it turns into an infant chair then a toddler chair. I really like the lamp too, its really cute and goes well with the room. Here is the link if you are interested.

My sons bedding was a jungle theme too that ws more yellow than anything and I ended up getting like his mobile, wall border, night light and light switch covers and wall hangings at babies r us that were all jungle themed. They were all from a set that had a matching bedding, but I alreay had mine that my aunt got me, but it matched perfectly an it was sooo cute. It was kinda expensive, but I had a lot of gift certificates to babies r us. I have a pic, but I cant get it onto the computer. target alway has cute stuff to. I like te idea with the plants in the room too!

You could do those borders that are stick on as well, they are supposed to pull off easy

We started out with the Fisher Price rainforest themed bedding, and we picked up a couple other items in the line, then decided that we could build our own set. Not only does it make it unique, but it was easier and more tailored to our tastes...and definitely cheaper. We're not allowed to paint on the walls here, so we chose instead to paint all of the furniture in bright primaries and then handpaint animals on them with acrylic paints. We shellacked over that with non-toxic sealant to make the paintings permanent. They have tons of stencils you could use too if you weren't wanting to paint. Also, since we couldn't paint the walls, we used animal decals on the walls so they wouldn't be so plain. The ones we ended up using came in a Noah's Ark set from Big Lots (it was in the toy department). We also found some jungle decals at the Dollar Tree ($1 for about 10 decals), but we're using those for the baby shower. We used this set and I got if off of ebay. I don't have the nursery painted yet, but I plan on paitning it a sage green.
