question about cord blood
posted 14th Aug
ok so heres the situation my hubby just got off the phone with his ex who he has a daughter with...... she thinks that Keira may have leukemia (sp?) i'm not really sure how serious she is about it since she hasn't taken her in to be tested yet, she thinks this because she seems to ALWAYS have a cold, she bruises really easily and in the past couple weeks she has been getting bloody noses like crazy. anyways my question is.... for the cord blood to be a match would it have to come from another child they would have together or would the cord blood from me and my husbands baby work? im horrible at looking things up

we can't afford to keep the blood. I wish we could. But I think it has to be the child's or a sibling of the same parents. and once its used once.. Isn't it gone?

I called the Cordblood registries the other day and got some info. I have a step son and because he doesn't have both the sameparents as my baby, he only has a 10-20% chance of being a match.
