medical student

SOOO today i had an appointment,, i got my day off changed JUST so i could see my doctor ...and shes NOT THERE so i had to wait and some other doctor comes in and leaves us with his medical student
NOW usually theres different medical students with my real doctor but they are nice and know what they are talking about but this one....ughhh!!
....so me and my boyfriend are sitting there and hes like " so ..what brings you here today..?".......?!?!?
gee maybe the huge bump on my stomache was a clue
so i said..umm im here for my regular check up ..
so he asks me all these questions that they asked my FIRST appointment and i answer them all ...whatever and he goes okay lets do a sonogram...i NEVER get a sono on my regular checkups just when i have sonogram appointments but i wasnt complaining as long as i get to see my baby ...so he turns it on and im ask whats that ( it was a little moving circle) ...he goes ummm i dont kno maybe a piece of placenta or something ..... ?!?! he was a moron i swear i started looking and im like wait thats her hand and look theres her face,,, her feet and hes like o yes ....like i was the doctor! so then he leaves me there all full of ultrasound gel laying on the table and says the doctor ( the REAL one) will be in , in a few to double check so after 15 minutes i couldnt fight it any more ,,,the sonogram machine was still on i was soooo tempted ...i did it myself lol
i got the PERFECT view she was moving and it was .....FUN lol
we got to do it for about 5 minutes till someone knocked and i just put it back real quick
so anyway hes like you can get up now....so what was the point of making me lay there?
plus i realized he moved the cloth the medical assistant gave me and got the gel ALL OVER my pants
so he just gave me a new appointment and i went home....
does anyone else go to a teaching hospital / clinic?

That sucks! My dr's office has students every once in a while, drives me nuts. But hey at least you got to see your baby!

thats the thing i never had JUST a student alone ,, they usually ask the questions and then my dr comes for the important stuff ,,, i guess the substitute dr didnt really care since im not his normal patient he had all hes appointments plus my doctors ...

that sux dont they ask you if its okay if the med student was with them? I wish I could do the sonogram by my self..that would be fun!!

thye dont really care ...lol its all free im covered by medicaid and its a medicaid clinic in a real good hospital soooo u just have to deal with it ....and it was FUNNNN lol

once when i was in the ER i snached the US thing whyle the doctor steped out and i tried but i couldnt see crap...i had no clue what i was looking at lol....

as for students.
\ugh my OB is right on the CSU Medical Campus...and so we have students ALL the time, but were never left alone with them they just sit and observe the doctors and midwives.

lol i only did it because it was on already ...i think he was supposed to turn it off , and i have NO IDEA what campus is around there its smack in the middle of manhattan its a HUGE mt sinai so i think they get students from all over , but yea they never see me alone ,, if he tried to examine me or something i DEFF wouldve asked for a DOCTOR
