water breaking??

hey everyone.
today im 2 1/2 cm dialated and my DR expects me to go into labor in the next 48hrs.
i know that not everyones water breaks,but im hoping mine does because im just guessing its painful to have them break it for you.
So my question is, is there any way to ensure it breaks??

it might be a dumb question, but i just don't want to hav them pushin on me to get it to pop  

Sex can sometimes pop it.

they dont push on you to make it pop.. they take a litte rod type thing and put it inside you dont even feel it..

i had my water broken by the dr and it wasnt painful at all... i just felt the fluid gush out and thats it.. no pain...

I don't think that it hurts when they break it, at least I don't remember it hurting. It just felt weird.

I hope you do go into labor soon though and you're not like me - I walked around for a month dilated to 2.

I t doesn't hurt to have them break your water they don't push on you to do it. They use a plastic thing that lokks like a crochet hook to break your water. When they did mine it actually gave me some relief. I felt like a load of weight and just come off of me

Mine started leaking during sex, but still had to have it formally broken and there was nothing to it...no worse than getting checked. Unfortunately, there's nothing that will guarantee your water breaking...but you can walk, do squats, walk stairs, or have sex. Good luck  !

mine didnt pop it was a slow leak n when she poped it the ret of the way it didnt hurt.

I was 4cent dialated when i got the hosp with my 1st and they made me walk to bring the baby down further...i took a break from walking and went to the bathroom and my water broke on the toilet...so walking may help

I think Sex and walking popped mine,I had sex one night then the next day was having contractions pretty bad and then walked around Walgreens and pop and water was all over.=]

well my Dr kinda stretched me, he said that should make me go into labor  
was not fun =[

i was 2cm dialited since 38 weeks and i didnt actualy go in to labor till 40 weeks 4 days....and this was with my oldest.
so i wouldnt count on the 2cm as a definite!! sorry~
