Having sencond thoughts...

Well I posted a topic about a month ago about how am giving my baby up for adoption. Over the past month I have carefully considered every single option out there. I am currently 8 months pregnant and having second thoughts about giving my baby up for adoption. My parents don't seem to understand that I am carrying a CHILD not a cat or dog. I am emotionally attached to my child (as I am assuming every mother is lol) but no one seems to understand this.

Thoughts of encouragement or advice?

i understand that. its your body and no one can make you give your baby up.

i think if you dont think you want to give it up then you shouldnt. you will regret it later. you know what you need to do. and it might be hard to raise a child on your own but you can do it.

Think about what is best for the baby at this time...Are you able to support it? Would it be better for the baby to be given to people that can fully take care of it...It's natural for you to have secind thoughts, but think of that child and do what's best for him/her

Well I still live at home and I do live in an already crowded house. I know there has to be some way to make it work.....I am just so confused at this point.

i think you are doing something wonderful either way! a lot of young women just have abortions. but if you are not comfortable, don't do it... go with your gut instinct. people will always be there ready to tell you that you can't do something, if thats what you decide, use that as a reason to do it anyway, and prove them wrong! if you decide to give it up, well then you are blessing a family, how mane people can say they have given such a wonderful gift? At this point I have a family picked out, but it seems like they aren't committed to this

listen to your heart and your gut feelings.. there is always a way to make it work. I have a friend who is a single mother to two children under 2 and she is doing it.. it's hard but it's possible.

Not everyone has a peachy life. We all struggle with many things..financial issues, family issues, etc. If you feel unsure about giving up your baby, you will definitely regret it later in life and its too late. There is plenty of help out there for moms who do it on their own. (Not sure if your BD is around) but you can do it! You just have to pick yourself up and think .. "My baby needs me and I'm going to do this!"

If you can provide a safe home where the baby will have it's needs provided for I don't see any reason why your parents wouldn't want you to keep your baby. I think you need to decide soon though, even if the family doesn't seem committed they deserve to know sooner than later about your decision. I would imagine they are anticipating the arrival of this child just as much as any parents would, whether they give birth to it or not.

I think that you should do what you feel is best, and if that means keeping your baby, than you should do just that. It is your baby, so don't let anyone try to talk you out of what you want to do. Good luck to you!

In my opinion, you shouldn't care if your parents are going to be pissed if you keep your baby. It's YOUR baby, so it's YOUR choice and if they don't like your decision, that is their problem. Besides, I am sure that once they see the baby, they will probably change their minds.
