ovarian cysts?

When I was 14 I had cysts really bad, I went to the ER for the pain a few times, well I seem to be getting that same pain on both of my sides, where my tubes would be.
When I had my miscarriages my doctors never asked if I have ever had a history of them.
Well I know a lady who isa obgyn nurse, she was telling me if they are bad enough they can cause you to mc. My question is wouldn't cysts cause you to NOT get pregnant instead of mc?I mean I am no doctor but, doesn't that seem weird?
Has any of you had cysts that caused you to not get pregnant or to mc? How were they detected?

When I was pregnant with Jaedyn I had a huge ovarian cyst I had no idea about it until my ob was doing my c-section and she asked permission to remove it. It was the size of a golf ball! But I haven't had any problems since.

I have a friend that has one & she has been trying to get preggers for 3yrs. She said she was told she could not get pregnant because of it. But who knows. Im sure its not like that for everyone.

oh my goooshh! Im guessing that I would have to have a doctors vistit to see if I have them then!

weird, someone told me that they can just pop on there own. But, I heard that they just keep re accuring. Ah!

Well I don't really know how they can check for them. I would think if they could see them through ultrasound then they would have noticed during my pregnancy... I was freaked out expecially when she sent it to the lab but everything turned out fine. I would ask your doctor though

Yeah, they found mine through ultra sound. But, im sure if there not looking for them they probably wont be found. but who knows. I think im going to call my doctor!

I have one on my ovary the size of a tennis ball. They found it when I got my first u/s at 18 weeks. It hasn't gotten any bigger but it also hasn't gotten any smaller. I freaked out b/c they said it could pop and I was worried it might hurt my little girl, but they said it wouldn't. I'm 38 weeks now and I wouldn't even have known it was there if they hadn't have done the u/s.

oh wow! will they remove it after birth. thats huge!

I know right?!? haha, they said they would do another u/s 6 weeks pp and if it isn't gone or at least smaller they will remove it. But I assume if I have a c-section (which I am not planning on having!!!) they would take it out then. They said it is a simple cyst-just clear fluid- and its nothing to be worried about. They also told my grandmother that and she died from ovarian cancer... but that was almost 20 years ago and technology is MUCH better now!

oh wow! good luck with your cyst. Hopefully it pops after your little girl comes out! =)
Ovarian cancer is sooo scary!

Thanks!   I just hope to stay preggers, I just want to hold my own in my arms! =)

Yup thats true. Both my ovaries are full of cysts. Most women have a few at one time or another. My gyn told me my pain was coming from them popping, at the time i saw her she wasnt expecting me to be TTC again till our next appointment - so she said they wouldnt be a problem and sent me on my way (with pills for heavy painful AF).

Im due back in about 6 weeks. If im not pregnant, i will definately ask her. The fact i will have been TTC for for 7-8 months by then says something isnt going well  

when I was TTCing before I knew that was the cause! My doctor told me when I was 16 I wouldnt be able to have kids then another said I had a 10% chance of conceiving but would miscarry. No matter how healthy I eat or how much I work out, they continue to pop and form leading me to the be admitted to the hospital several times a year..its so annoying
