Any others who don't want to find out the sex of their baby?

posted 13th Aug
Most people find out the sex of their baby as soon as they can. When I get pregnant I don't plan on finding out. I like the idea of a big surprise! Anyone else feel the same?

I am not finding out either! Just because its practical for planning to find out doesnt mean it makes any more sense.

I would have gone crazy if I didn't find out...I couldn't imagine NOT knowing now. No so much for the planning and what not, but there's so many things to look foward to and I wanted to know something early (kind of like opening a Christmas present a few days early).

I had a girl and then a boy with Ella we didnt find out and it was the best I would def. rec. it to anyone...not to take away from the other two births but it just added a new level of excitement.... although she was in green for the fist few weeks LOL...

I don't think there is anything better than a proud dad getting to run down the hallway and scream "Its a _____!"

I bought all my new baby's clothes from Goodwill and secondhand. All I started registering for were toys , travel gear and diapers. With the money I saved on neutral clothes for the 1st month I am putting towards a "gender specific" fund!

I agree with you 100%! I love the idea of Hampton being able to tell me what new life we created! Thankfully he likes the idea as well, otherwise I don't what we would do!

Finding out what the sex is is relatively new! Just like giving birth women have been waiting to find out until delivery for a pretty long time!

13 weeks-ish until I know what name we will be calling little monkey!

You will get alot of crap let me tell you that. Everyone ragged on me because they said I was making my baby shower "difficult".
Ok, well I already know I am having a C-section so why not let me hold on to one element of suprise? My uterus, my choice!

Oh I know, lol. I was thinking along the line of going out for say 6-12 month clothes, you know the sizes that everyone always forgets to buy for you?

I know...just like ultrasounds. People my mom's age were lucky to have one, and they were usually so early that all they saw was a blob on the screen.

Hubby and I both wanted to know, I'm a control freak...so it was good for us to know something LOL. We did pass on all of the extra tests and whatnot - so that's our tradeoff. We have our heads in the sand praying she's perfectly healthy.

Haha. For the most part I have very understanding (but impatient) friends. We're so ready to have a baby and they're so ready for us to have one too, that I don't know if they'll be down with waiting! Haha. But I'm thinking I won't have a baby shower until after the baby is born. I have several family members and friends who did that, so maybe that will make it a little easier.

Thats a good way for your family to meet the baby too,
Really though I know its tempting, but you will be so proud of yourself if you hold out!
