Adoption questions .....

So hopefully I am posting this in the right spot since its adoption questions ...

we did a dna test and everything and got everything set up for support and visitation and she decides to tell us that the only reason why she went through the service was for an I TOLD YOU SO ( since there was a question of paternity since it was a 2 night stand type deal) and pretty much after saying that she told my hunny that she wanted him to sign his rights over , so her now hubby could adopt the boy .. Basically due to it being her wishes and all the drama that she wrapped everything into, he agreed to. well this is where my questions come into play

Its been almost a year and the adoption has NOT be finalized , ( it was an in home adoption, was suppose to be cut and dry according to the lawyer) My hubby paid for 3/4 of this , since this is what she wanted and didnt have the $$ for the process ... Well now the laywer that they went through isnt returning any of his calls becauseshes never in her office , and when he calls her ( the mom), she basically tells him that he signed his rights over and that when the adoption(meaning when the judge signs off on it ) isnt any of his buisness anymore ...

So my questions are
isnt it still his buisness since techinally (s/p) its still his child and the only reason why he agreed to even doing it was for the best intrest of all parties involved??

and is his rights null and voided when he signed that piece of paper , or is his rights not terminated until a judge signs off on the paper work ??

no once the babies adopted its technelly not his anymore..since he signed his rights away..even though its his if someone adopts the baby the adopted father is the father now..

I think if he signed off his rights, he has none~ there is nothing he can do about the adoption being finalized, since technically he no longer has rights to that child. All I would suggest is if he no longer has parental rightsI would not pay anymore $ for the adoption process~ it's not up to him.

Well, if he signed over his rights, and the new guy is adopting him, then, in the court of law, it isn't his business, because it is no lnoger his child, no matter what the blood says. I understand why he would still want to know information, but, not his business really once everything is finalized.

ok ive been thru the adoption process here in canada.. so it may differ. BUT from what my case was once you sign over your rights you have 21 days to reverse the decsion then after that time you are no longer envolved. Now the states laws are different and vary state to state.. but from what Ive heard you have more time to reverse the decsion.. much more time actually.

Why did he agree to it anyways? I read the whole thing but missed that part i guess.

As far as i understood when he signs off thats it...she can choose for him not to see his child, if ur husband wanted his child in his life he should have never signed away, i would recommend to seek legal advice on this one.

all the paperwork was all together for the adoption , his paperwork , plus their paper work .. and all of it was to be submitted to the judge all at the same time .. So my question is since it hasnt been in front of the judge , has his right been terminated yet ?? If so then i can understand that its not his buisness but if not , I feel thathe should be informed on what the status is .

Once he signed it he signed it.. doesntmatter that the judge hasnt seen it yet.. the lawyers have. But if he were looking to reverse the decsion like i said there is a time period to do so, but if hes not looking to do that then no he has no legal rights to know right now
