? about juice & cereal

Being 8 years since I have had a little one...I cant remember at what age it is ok to start giving them cereal and juice....
Can somebody give me some ideas...THANKS

I started spoon feeding my daughter (first) at 3 months with cereal, but didn't add juice till 6 months. Apple juice, not orange. I started spoon feeding my son cereal at 8 weeks. He was a hungry boy. He tolerated it well. If constipation hits, a teaspoon of clear Karo syrup once a day is a great laxitive. Just don't give too much or it can be too much sugar in baby's diet. Lots of people frowned on me giving my kids real food so early, but neither of them suffered from food allergies from it, and they both tolerated it, and best of all, my babies weren't hungry babies at night, therefore, they slept. Cereal 4-6 months Juice after 6 months according to most doctors .

When you gave them cereal did you mix it with formula/breast milk or just water?

Juice , is really NOT needed .. but if you do it I'd give it after 6 months.

Either way, but I was trying to dry up at 8 weeks, so I didn't want to keep it going with my milk, so I mixed it with formula. I figured it'd just be healthier that way. I guess I did things sooooo wrong with my daughter, but it turned out well. With her, I would make a 3 oz bottle, put cereal, and like a half a jar of sweet potatoes into a bottle for her, and widen the slit on the nipple JUST A LITTLE so she could get it through. That was her favorite, and she'd sleep 12 hours a night, because she was happy! I started that with her at about 3 months or so. She's not obese today, 8.5 years old, she's healthy, without ever having eating disorders or food allergies. So many people looked down on me for that, but I stuck to the fact that I was her mother, I knew what was right for her. When I told my son's doc that I was feeding him cereal at 8 weeks, she just smirked and acted like she didn't hear me. She was a good doc., who trusted the mother to know whats best for their child.

Mine is 6 weeks old and I just started him on organic rice cereal.I feed that to himin the morning and at night. Some of my experiencedmom family members suggested it-they said try and if he wanted to lap it off a spoon then he was ready. He loves is.
A lot of people say that is way too young, but I disagree.
I haven't introduced him to juice yet. I think I will wait until maybe 3 months.
It is totally up to you.

Yep, 6 weeks. He only gets it twice a day. It doesn't replace a meal or anything like that. He eats a little saucer of it and then I feed him his bottle.
It hasn't upset his tummy, it actually has helped his digestion.
