little sister vent

ok I watch my little sister almost everyday in the week for the summer until my parents get home from work which sometimes isn't tell 9 pm at night..well I wanted to know if there is anyway I can keep from exploding at her when she talks back to me or doesn't listen...Please help any ideas will work

get a babysitter.

When I worked as a nany whenever the kids would mouth off or talk back there would be extra chores, or they wouldn't be able to go out and swim right when everyone else was able to (natural consequences). But it depends alot on the age and what kind of responsibilities and privileges that she has

I've raised my little sister. (Single parent home). It's not easy when they get to that phase. But I've always had a firm hand with her so she kind of knows that she shouldn't be pushing my buttons. The times when she does I just tell her I'm in charge and she really needs to understand that and respect me. I dunno what exactly you can say to her, she is 9 (mine's almost 12).

why would we get a babysitter when i can babysit her for free

well she is 9 years old and she thinks she is the boss of me...i have talked to my parentsabout it and well they just tell her "listen to your sister she is the boss of you tell we get home"...for example everyday my mom leaves us a list of chores to do before she gets home...i did most of mine yesturday so i just had to clean the bathroom today and my sister she had to clean off the kitchen table, put up all the dishes and wash the dirty ones(only like 6 of them)..So then when she seen the list she said i hate putting up the dishes im not doing it..i told her go put up the dishes..she said your not my mom or my boss and i just exploded on her..

i told her after your done putting up the dishes go to your room tell mom or dad gets home she said no your not my boss or mother like she always says...sometimes i tell her your grounded and she says i dont care and tells my dad when she gets home and then he starts arguing with me

i cant she never listens but when it is not someone in the family taking care of her she listens to them

How are you addressing the problem when she's not listening to you?
