nesting

posted 13th Aug
I'm staying at my parents house until the big day because me&my husband live in the counrty 2 hours away from the hospital (without traffic) I just had my baby shower on the 11th and now I have soo much stuff! I'm trying to get organised but it's so hard with my big belly. Picking stuff off the floor has given me heartburn-bleugh   and my country house is soo not baby ready either. I wish it was all done. I'd feel like the worst mother if I let my baby come into the world with everything like this-one big mess! My husband doesn't seem the problem of course. Is anybody else as disorganised as me?

Before I had my son, I decided that EVERYTHING had to be in order. Including finishing our basement and buying new furniture. I constantly felt like if it didn't get done I wouldn't be able to enjoy the baby because I would still have SOOO MUCH to do!

Well, it didn't all get done, and the baby came and life went on. My son never noticed that the walls weren't finished and that the cupboards hadn't been orgainized, and after a few days, I didn't care about it either!

My worst pet peeve of nesting though - every time I would do ANYTHING, I mean dishes, laundry, wiping the counter, you name it, my husband would say "Oh, look your nesting again!". I finally just turned around and screamed "Laundry and dishes isn't nesting, its cleaning up after your lazy ass!!" Lol! Yeah..... hormones!

ha! love that! I've been pretty organized except for the fact that I can't seem to stop finding new projects to start. Inevitably something will not be finished by the time baby arrives.

thanx for sharing   my husband wouldn't even know about nesting if it wasn't for Juno! when we were leaving our house to come up to my parents I was desperetly trying to get everything done with not enough time and got realli upset when we had to leave and it wasn't finished. he was like, 'I'll do it when the babe is here' my ass he will! And I just had this horrible image of me sitting with the babe surrounded by this mess, trying to order him around-ahhh! Hopefully my Mum is gonna bring me down and help me. She is AMAZING at cleaning, once she sets her mind on it it's done in a flash!

See the problem with men is......

THEY ARE CONTENT TO LIVE IN A MESS!!

They can look around a flithy house and think, "Hmmmm..... well, theresnot enough room on the table for my beer, so if we just stack these plates like this, and move these papers over here, VOILA! Clean table!" My husband tries, he really does, but he doesn't get it.

I was at my moms for the last 1 1/2 weeks, and when he came to get me he said how he had cleaned the house. Okay..... dishes on the counter, food in the fridge that he was supposed to throw out the day I left, laundry all over the floor and 2 full garbage bags!!! But he did wash the dishes that I didn't have time to wash before I left - after they sat on the counter for 6 days!! I wish I were a man, I would be less stressed lol

my bf tried to wash the dishes once. he got so mad he just threw it all back in the sink and i felt bad for him..i really did because its just like sometimes they just dont get it. they dont realize we do get down and dirty when we clean! and they are just too prissy for that!!

I know! Me&my husband moved into our house just 3 months ago-so we are still trying to find a place for everything. The problem is though-he doesn't think everything needs a place!? Bizarre, I was trying to figure out where to put the blender and he was like, 'wherever, it doesn't need a specific place' OF COURSE IT DOES!! It can't just hang in the cupboard one day then over by the sink. It needs a place-gahhh, he drives me crazy!

And that would be why men spend 90% of the day saying, "Hon.... where is my wallet? Have you seen my socks? I thought we had one of those travel mugs, where'd it go?" lol

I know part of my husbands problem is that I actually want things to be clean after. Not okay, but CLEAN! I've tried to be less picky though - don't want to discourage him. I do it like you would with a kid, let them help you, then when they aren't around to see, redo it

I love it!
My boyfriend and I are putting in wood floors. The house has become dusty from ripping the carpet out.. and now installing new ones... I give birth on Thursday Aug 21st... (induction)

By then I want to have our floors completely done.. our walls dusted off, the garage cleaned out, the computer out of the babys room and in to ours.. the carpets in the room washed.. our couches steemed cleaned. windows washed (because the dog puts his paws ALL over them)I do the sheets on all beds... Monday and Thursdays.. clean the bathrooms (scrug toilets and tub) everyday.. I know I should be enjoying my last days of pregnancy... but I know once the baby comes.. we are going to have guests like CRAZY! thats the way we "Latinas" do.... and so I want my house to be perfect for our guests.. after the baby is born... I can chill out.. and just return to routine cleaning. For now... I WILL worry about my guests sleeping in clean sheets.. and having a place to visit that is impecable! Call me paranoid.. but I'm a neat freak.. and I wouldnt have it another way.. I always get compliments on my house and how welcoming and warm it is.. and I love it!

This nesting thing is for the birds! We have a three bedroom house. The two girls share a room upstairsso, we are in the process of moving them down into the guest bedroom so the baby can have the room next to us. Well, now we have no guest bedroom, so we had to get a sofa bed for the basement. Now we have to get rid of the old couch. Everything is a mess and it's driving me crazy. Obstacle course in the entire house. Not fun when you have this bundle of joy that makes everything so unbalanced right now. I have 10 weeks to get the house in order, but working full time and then passing out right when I get home just doesn't get anything done. I wish my hubby would get off hisbutt and help me out. He told me "I'm only one person you know." That just made me laugh because that's what I usuallytell him! Now he knows how I feel. Once he get's all the heavy stuff done, then I can work my magic and get the house in order - until he messes it up again.
