hospital bag

Im 36 weeks so i think its time i should start preparing my hospital bag. What do you think i will need to take??

Yea it is about that time.

going home clothes for you and the baby
panties/pads
junk food lol
I guess the carseat?
pillow for spouse
games
I can't think of anything else

I didnt use anything except for my toothbrush, my robe, and my going home clothes... but I was only in the hospital for 12or so hours after I gave birth... but I think that is all Iwould have used anyway... and some shampoo!! And some DVDs (it helps with a long labor)

I just took my babies clothes, some clothes for me and a bunch of quarters for the vending machine. What I really wish I brought was shampoo and conditioner and body soap.

Ha! I am not the one to ask - my hubby said he was embarrased to be walking in with me! LOL - He said it looked like I was moving in.....and I hardly used ANYTHING. The one thing that we had to go buy once Aly was born was wipes. The hospital doesn't use them and the cloths that you had to wet were a pain in the ass!

I brought way more stuff than I actually used....

I recommend slippers, a couple pairs of socks you don't mind ruining, lots of big butt granny panties, pajamas for recovery, your own soaps/shampoo etc/toiletries, CHAPSTICK, sugarfree candies to suck on(I had sugarfree wintergreen lifesavers), Relaxation music if you can, a focal point item. That is just a few things...oh yeah maybe a hand held paper fan...you get warm and sweaty.

I took a bunch of stuff but only used my bathroom stuff and going home clothes for me and baby, phone and charger, pj's...I used the hospital pads because regular pads just werent enough for all the blood. ooh and breast pads

Here's my list-I'll need about 3 suitcases to bring it in! I'll be staying in the hospital for at least 3 days...

nighwear x2
cosy slippers
comfy socks
hot water bottle and ice packs
massage oil
some essential oils
nourishing snacks
music and a CD player
organic maternity pads
camera&video camera
nursing bra&reusable breast pads
reusable nappies
waterproof bag (for taking home soiled nappies-mmm!)
eco baby wipes
babyclothes
realli comfy big pants
baby car seat
lip balm
pampering cosmetics and hair accesories
nice outfit for me to come home in

still have to pack it all though...how exciting!

i can tell u what im bringing maybe this should help, change of clothes
(for u), baby's first outfit, recieiving blankets, pillows, 1 for u, 1 for your hubby/oyfriend, maxi pads, pleny of undies, nursing bras, bath rob, slippers, camera, cell phone or calling cards, ipod (haha), cosemtics, shampoo, conditoner, body wash, and i think thats pretty much it, a ton of stuff i know but its all the things you'll need

big granny pannies, lots of pads (overnight size), comfy clothes, (I lived in 3 nursing gowns while I was in the hospital), and slipper socks

This is all I used out of everything I packed....
-Lip balm
-Robe and slippers (after c-section they want you to walk the next day)
-Going home outfit for you and baby (I had another set for babyand glad I did because he ended up taking pics in the hospital)
-Carseat
-Pacifier (just in case)
-Main toiletries (tooth brush, shower stuff)
-Make up (the last day I actually put on mascara and lip gloss)
-Socks
-Baby book for foot/handprints
-Camera
-Chargers for phone & camera
-Disposable breast pads (for if you leak)

That's all I can think of at the moment

I used their pads/panties/nightgowns...I was bleeding too much so I didn't use ANY of my own things. Other than that anything else you'll need you won't know til you're actually in the hospital, and then it will be for comfort, not need.
