re: biological mom vs. step mom

so we got a call yesterday from bio mom and she's asking my boyfriend to drop the child support. she's asking him to drop it so they'll stop deducting her checks cuz supposedly she's only being left with $10 a check. she's offering to give us a certain amount of money up front each paycheck if he drops the child support thing. i dont think it's a very good idea. i mean. there's jus somethin fishy about it. she's offered to have a contract made out and get it notarized, but how is that going to help the kids? i hear a lot of stories from people about how the other half is supposed 2 pay child support but never does cuz they dont have enough money or so on and so forth. u kno. one excuse after another. i'm saying to jus leave everything as is and let the government keep deducting her checks cuz it's not my problem if she's left with that amount. but my boyfriend is thinkin about doing it cuz it sounds like a good idea, more money for the kids and no hastle with the child support services. what do u guys think?

DONT DO IT! Notarized?...whats that gonna do when she falls 2,3,4 months behind? Are you going to take the piece of paper to her and say ...YOU PROMISED? Um hello the thing about Child support office being involved is they have there ways and connections with other official offices such as the police and the irs. THey have it there so that they can back you up. IF she gets behind by a couple of months, they will suspend her license and so forth. IF she gets far enough behind they will take her tax return! Thats how they enforce child support. I wouldnt do it if i was you!

see i'm new to the whole custody laws child support laws and so on and so forth. so getting this piece of paper notarized isn't worth anything? i'm thinking get the shit notarized and if she doesnt pay take her ass to court. but there you go again spending money on fees and shit to get back onto child support. i'm telling my boyfriend to not go through with it becuz she's only offering to do it for her advantage. every single time she offers something like that or tries to make a deal with him, there's always something fishy about it. it's jus really annoying how he always considers what she has to say knowing the fact that she's a sneaky bitch who'll say whatever she can to get her way!

The AG will do something about it. The AG is there for the children. If, she's not paying then call the AG and they will do something aobut it. In, texas every 3 years you can take the parent back to court for child support through the AG. Everybody's situation is different. But, like you said before the support already comes out of her check. If, she gets a job and makes less money she can request for them to go back before the 3 years and get it lowered.....

What's an AG and wat do u mean go back before the three years to get it lowered?

The AG is the attorney general, they handle the child support. normally you go back every 3 years. sometimes if changes happen before the 3 years can go back and raise or lower the child support
