C-section incision still open 3 weeks later

posted 12th Aug
I had my daughter on July 21st via c-section. Well I had my staples removed on July30 and and August 1st I noticed my incision had three little openings. I freaked out but waited till August 4th to go into the dr and he said it looked ok and it was not infected. Well here it is 8 days later and still open. Now it is just one opening a little less than an inch. It is not oozing just bleeds very little maybe a few drops here and there on my underwear.
I am starting to freak out and think it is never going to close. I hate to call my dr again because I felt like and idiot the last time I went in. The incision looks the same as before just bigger.

Anyone else had this happen?????

Yes.. but mine only opened 1 place.. about an inch in the middle. . mine bled a lot though so I called my dr's on-call number and got in first thing the next morning. There was nothing she could do.. she just had me clean it twice a day (morning/night) with peroxide and put a gauze pad over it. It still bled for about 2 days and it took almost a week to start closing up really good.

Have someone butterfly it back together. Mine came open when my daughter push on it to get outta my lap it wasnt too bad and i had my DH step mom butterfly it back closed and it closed back up and healed ok. Its really the only part of the c section scar you can really see now.

Ok well I guess I will try that. Ugh I hate this. I wish I never had a c-section again.

I have a hard time talking to my doc because he looks at me like I'm an idiot. They should do something about it though! My husband just had knee sergery 2wks ago. They took his stitches out & they opened up right after therapy. I took him back & made them put something on it so it would heal better. I think it was butterfly strips with this sticky stuff so they would stay on for about a week. She evengave us some extra. It healed up great. If I were you I would make them do something about it.

Nope no brusing. It actually looks good except for the gaping hole! LOL I go back on the 28th. I hate to wait that long but I guess I will.

I have had two c-sections now. My first one was five years ago and my second one was just three weeks ago. In my first c-section I was stapled and when I went in for my two week check up there was a small hole. The Dr. had to put a q-tip in it to ensure it was just an external hole not an internal one. Which thankfully it was more of just an external hole. She just put a steri strip over it and it healed up just fine. This c-section recovery has been sooo much better but I noticed a couple days ago while inspecting my incision that there was a very small spot that when I pushed on it, it bled just a little bit. This time I was sewnfrom the inside so I didn't have staples to deal with. Thank God!

I went into the Dr. today and there is no infection or anything else that they can see but they want me to air it out and put hydrogen peroxide on it 2x/day for 20 minutes each time. They couldnt' see a hole or tell there was much there until they pushed on that one spot. That is the only time it would bleed just a little bit. So I am going to try the airing out and pray that this just heals up soon. I go back to the Dr. in a few days just to have it looked at again. Of course she had to say something about the incision possibly opening up but I am going to take it extra careful this week eventhough I am feeling really good. Ugh!!
