STILL havent been to the doctors ="(

So... how bout I went into the MediCal office at 10AM... didnt get out of there until 4 pm... and DIDNT EVEN GET INSURANCE! My CA DMV permit wasnt a "valid form of ID". ARGH! I am almost 11 weeks.. and I STILL havent seen a doctor!

I had my Social Security Card... my Birth Certificate... my Bank Statements... My ENTIRE Tax folder... my Proof of pregnancy... and my CALIFORNIA DMV ISSUED DRIVERS PERMIT WITH A PICTURE... but they wouldnt accept it.. BECAUSE IT WAS ON PAPER.. AND NOT A CARD!! WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO PROVE I AM ME?!?

And I CANT get food stamps.. because even though I was a ward of the court (My father was abusive, and I was pulled by the sherrifs from my home and place in a womens Battery shelter the last few months of high school.. still 17 y/o) I am still considered a "dependant" because I live with my grama. DESPITE the fact that I am A ward of the court, Independant on my taxes... and Independant in college!!! WTF!!

GRR! I am almost 11 weeks... and I STILL havent been to a doctor!

Chin up, they'll get better. My doctor doesnt start seeing patients until 12 weeks.

Hopefully you can get to see a doctor soon, but it's not too big of a deal to have not seen a doctor yet. I will be 12.5 weeks before I see mine for the first time and I have no insurance issues! Just eat well and take prenatals and you'll be fine!

I feel bad that the system is just screwing you around. I'm sure your baby is ok though. I'm stationed overseas with my hubby and they won't see you until your atleast 12 weeks along.

So what did they tell you you needed instead of the picture permit?

Yeah most doctors won't see you til close to your second trimester because the rate of miscarriage is really high before that, and there really isn't much they can do at that point anyway. Just take prenatals, drink lots of water, and try to relax. I hope things get easier!!

I'm sorry that you are having such a difficult time with everything. If it makes you feel any better I didn't go to the doctor until I was 14 weeks. I did have to go to the er at 6 because of a cyst and they did an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy so they could give me meds, but I didn't actually have an appt where anything was said or done about the baby until 14 weeks 3 days.

They said that I need a CA ID or Drivers Licence... but it takes up to 60 days in the mail to recieve the card.. *which apparently I HAVE to use*... and 2 weeks to scheduall an appt to take the test or get ur pic taken for just the ID.

By the time I get to take the test... I will be 13 weeks... and by the time I get the card.. well.. add on another 60 days >=(

You will be jsut fine. Don't worry! Just get some prenatals at the store, and drink lots of water, and try to keep the stress down. (I know, easier said than done)

That sucks, I was having trouble with insurance to but I wanted my appointment so bad that I decided to pay cash for it. It was $275 but I thought it was worth it. And when my insurance found out that I did that they refunded me the $275 so it actually ended up working out.

my doctor said that she sees people even without insurance. Because I got screwed around and didnt get to the doctor till I was 18 wks.

You might just have to pay for the first appt. Just tell them that you'll wait for the blood work and all the tests they run (like HIV and such) until after your insurance comes in.

i didn't go to the doc til 18 wks with my first, 20 wks with my second, and 15 wks this time. just eat healthy, and take care of yourself. it should be ok. hang in there.

I didn't see any medical professional until I was 13 weeks. I didn't see a DOCTOR until I was a day from 16 weeks. It's gonna be fine. Don't worry yourself too much.

it'll be ok i didn't see a doctor until 17 weeks a lot of docs wont see you this soon anyways.

I would just pay out of pocket. MediCal will reimburse you.
