My sick, teething baby girl...

posted 12th Aug
Blah!!!

I'm hoping its just teething, but Kaelah's nose started running a day or so ago, and tonite just started sneezing more than she usually does. Her snot is clear, and no fever. She was fussy and acting like she was tired so we put her to bed about 30 min early. She woke up screaming about an hour later. I just put her back to bed after rocking her, and giving her some teething tablets and a little bit of formula...

I hate that I cant do anything for her, i just feel so horrible.

The tablets work for a short period...after about an hour or so she'll start back up. I hope she gets these dang teefers in soon!! It feels like she's been teething for 2 months now, lol.

veronica was sneezing alot & had a super bad runny nose while she was teething.

she also was always pulling at her ears.

i took her to the ER the other night bc of her ears, & they told me everything was from the teething, bc it can affect the sinuses.

This might not be a popular answer but my pedi allows us to give infant tylenol when his teething got SO bad. We've survived to 8 teeth and we're still on the same bottle they gave us in the hospital

See, I knew that babies could get runny noses, but was unsure about the sneezing, so thats why I thought she may be sick. I'm happy you mentioned that!! It makes me feel a little better that it's probably not going to develop into something serious.

I did give some to her this afternoon, but it didnt help that much. My MIL told me to do the same thing. I dont think its a bad idea as long as you're not over using it.

if she starts coughing i would take her to the doctor, but IMO the sneezing isn't really anything to worry about.

also, orajel works wonders! the tylenol didn't really do anything for veronica.

She does cough a little, but I'm assuming its because its draining down her throat? I know the pedi wont do anything unless she's running a fever. I have orajel, but heard it hardens the gums and makes it harder for the teeth to come in...so I'm afraid to use it! lol

Kennedy snots up real bad when she's teething too. And she coughs too when she's laying down, I think because the snot runs into the back of her throat. From what I've heard, it's normal for them to get runny noses when they are teething.

Two words for teething: Infant Tylenol.
