Need advice

I am 34wks. & had an ultrasound at 30wks. because my placenta...anyways everything is fine with that. I got some pics of my babys face. Im scared it might be cleft lip. I brought it to my doc.s attention at my last visit. He acted like it was nothing & told me he wasn't a cleft lip expert. This pissed my husband off but I reassured he was a good doc. & that i trusted him. After all he delivered my other two children. I have been looking at other ultrasound pics of cleft lip & see some similarities. Im scared & don't know how to approach my doc. again about this. My doc office doesnt have 3 & 4D ultrasounds. They also only allow 1 unless there is a prob. I have already had 2! What can I do? Also I am on TenCare

ASk if there is someone else you can talk to.  They should work with you.  It is in everyone's best interest to know for sure.  Also, document everything and every time you discuss this with everyone, and if your requests are dismissed, you have some evidence to show that you were ignored.

Go get one done out of pocket if you are concerned. I payed for mine out of pocket. There are places that do it. Athough they aren't intended for medical diagnostics I would assume that they would be able to tell something like that. The us tech that did mine was very good and experienced.

Ask for a referral to a specialist?

I think...not really sure. It's just weird that you said that cause I've thought some baby's sonogram pics look like there may be something like cleft lip going on. Idk I'm just a big worrier until i see the baby. I had a screening done at a periontologist and they were really good at looking for things that weren't right. Maybe look for one in your area and somewhat demand, nicely, your ob send you there.

My husband has cleft lip and me and my husband were concerned our daughter might have it so our obgyn sent us toget a level 2 sonogram. We went ahead and got the level 2 because alot of the pictures looks like she had it but she didn't!

Usually you would need your doctor to refer you to another doctor, especially a peri. I would keep calling the office. Until you get results.

No, you do not need a referal. Just keep in mind that it is for recreational use and not to diagnose medical problems. And while they probably will be able to tell you if your baby has something like that, that is not really their intended use. They are intended to give you a sneak peak at your babies face.
