re: Giving the homeless money.

I would be so scared to look. We get the rare occasion homeless person that usually ends up in jail, they sleep under the bridges. We have no clue where this one guy comes from. ha.

One time, me and my sister went to subway, and there was a homeless person outside a couple stores down and we bought him a sandwich, with chips and a drink.

Whenever homeless people ask "Can I bum a smoke?" I give them half my pack and my lighter.

Whenever homeless people ask for money, I say no, go to the nearest store and buy them either chips or a drink.

It makes me feel good

I'd go with food.. but usually especially downtown its so busy so everyones on the go and I dont have time to run in and pick something up for them. Once I was walking with my friend and we both just bought bottles of water and two homeless men were sitting in the park and asked us for some so we gave them our bottles and they were so happy.

We have the dollar menu, it went south though. Now a small fry is a dollar! Everything on it is small now, instead of medium, no one wants that haha.

The city that I live in wasn't near this bad just a few years ago. Here recently it is over run with homeless people, drug addicts and prostitutes. It's gross and I don't even feel safe.

I'm moving in three days! Yayyyyy.

In jr high, i had a guy once ask me for money so he could get some food on the steps of Taco Bell. I didn't want to give him money, so when we came out I gave him a couple tacos, he said he didn't want them! I was pretty upset about that.
About 3 years ago my friend and I went downtown for new years, and we were walking from one bar to the next and this guy had a sign, it said why lie, it's for beer. I tossed him a $10. It probably wasn't my smartest idea, but I was also pretty drunk myself.
About 3 years ago, a friend and I went to the Oprah Winfrey show. Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley were there. Charles said he won't give a homeless person money because it's just as easy to say, "can I have a couple dollars for some food?" as it is to say "welcome to mcdonald's may I take your order?"

If they can't get a job at McDonalds what makes you think a restaurant will hire them? And it isn't always a bad decision on the persons part. Sometimes when the economy is bad people get fired, can't find a job and where else, and are left with nothing to take care of their family. So if you or who ever was supposrting your family lost their job and you had nothing, nothing at all and were living on the street and asked me for some money to eat or have your child eat you would like me to look at you like you were stupid and then tell you "no I have no sympothy for you or your child" How would you like that? You aren't in those peoples shoes so you don't know why they have no money.

I don't give the homeless money at all. Most homeless people choose that lifestyle and for the ones who don'tyou would have to give a great deal of money for them to get their lives back on track. Also, giving a acholoic or drug abuser money when you know that's what they are going to do is no different from you yourself purchasing it. If they really wanted the help to change they are plenlty of places you could donate money to that goes to helping homeless people that WANT the right help.

One man asked me for a smoke after i literally just lit one.. So I offered him the one I lit since i had like one left.. he said no thanks so fine.. if you think i have coodies(sp????)

haha!! If I was homeless and needed a smoke, I wouldn't care whose mouth was on it!

I think if I was really poor i wouldn't be worring about smoking! I'm sure they need something to do cuz i know my gma just smokes bc shes bored but she has the money they don't
