My thoughts to but my g-ma talks about the bible all the time and she;s starting to wear off on me lol! I just hope that if that ever happened to me someone would buy my children some food!

I agree you never know who really is telling the truth these days so I go with food now.

Giving a homeless, one-legged veteran money is acceptable. I probably would if I had it to spare.

The homeless people around the area that I live are alcoholics, drug addicts and thieves. I don't want to give them anything but nasty looks. I'm terrified to be home alone because of the break-ins.

Same here. We have a guy that I don't know if he's homeless or not, but he's always dirty, and rides a bike, and begs for money. But he always has enough to get a huge thing of captain and eat mcdonalds all day long. No one gives him money around here. The cops constantly have to deal with him. You'd think he has a home, cause there's no shelter around here...and they're taking him somewhere.

No McDonalds will not just hire anyone. Go in with one leg and see if they hire you... And if you are actually homeless and go in dirty looking for a job you think they will give you one? Try it and tell me if you get hired.

sort of off topic but the lady that runs a coffee shop next to my house used tolive in LA and told me sometimes people will ask to make a quick call on your cellphone and then run off with it.. is that true?

Our Mcdonalds actually doesn't hire anyone without a high school diploma or GED and if you're in high school they watch your grades, and cut your hours if your grades slip. Our Mcdonalds is actually nice, and has nice people. They don't hire just anyone.

Yeah, when I use to work at Target I had to take the e-way so when I was coming home I'd get some food from the pizza hut (got the hook up the manager loved me) and some starbucks and give it to him when I was getting off the e-way. He used to tell me I was awesome all the time.   That man was cool

We have areas around here that the police refer to as "homeless dens". They are shaded foliage areas that homeless people sleep in to get out of the rain or hot weather. They're usually full of 40oz beer bottles, crack pipes and random junk. When my wallet got stolen someone mentioned looking in them. Sure enough, my license somehow ended up in one behind a grocery store down the street.

Go to a restaurant and wash dishes, get support from a church. I have no sympathy whatsoever for the homeless. In most cases it was bad decisions on their part that led to where they are today. In most places, if you are bad off, say one leg, and you go to a church for help, they will help you. Most of them are looking to live off other people for the rest of their lives, to drink all the booze they want and harass people at red lights.
